I have an LG enV cellphone. I put it on the bathroom counter this morning, forgot it was there, and when I went to get it, it was wet all on the bottom. Well, now it's acting funny. I think it's the battery. It's fully charged, but it will just shut off, and the bars keep moving from fully charged to only 1 or 2 bars charged. Also, the down arrow key on the inside of the phone doesn't work right, and when I push the speaker button, after it turns on/off the speaker, my calendar pops up, and I have to clear it. It works fine when I put my husbands battery in, except for the arrow key and the speaker key.
Do I just need to let it dry out without using it, or should I take it in. I don't have insurance on it. And, no, I haven't told DH yet, he'll just get mad at me.

1st I would see if you are eligible for a new free phone in your contract.
If not let it dry out and see if that helps. :dunno

Mine got wet before and drying it out helped, same with the digicam.
I wouldnt be using it until dry, and would remove the battery.

Ok. I have it on open on the kitchen counter, away from the sink, drying out. I took out the battery. I hope this does the trick. Thanks.

A hair dryer should help speed things up! :)

I hit it with some compressed air, but the weird thing is, that it really didn't get all that wet. I went ahead and left it on, because at the time it was fine, but now it's not so fine. I don't know, it's drying right now, but I think I may have at least fried the battery. We'll see. Batteries are about $40, that's cheaper than buying a new phone.

Even a tiny amount of water will cause it to quit working - happened to me
Just let it air dry for several hours with the battery removed - it should be fine

Well, OK. I'm taking your word for it now.
I'll let you know how it all turns out. And if it doesn't work right, Tom gets to buy me a new phone. :heh
