You're absolutely right...In fact, I have a b ook on this very topic - tracing the rise and fall of various countries based on their actions for or against Israel.

I assume (as you do) that God was quite serious about Genesis 12.

Once we pull away all support from Israel, as I assume we will, soon - we better hunker down because it may not be pretty....

I agree :thumb, I also beleive that when we turn our backs on Israel is when God will turn his back on us...not sure whether this will happen before or after the rapture. :heythere

Buz -- I believe what we are seeing is the prelude to the tribulation in America because we are being prepared for a) socialist government directed by one man or a group of men and b) in our churches, to accept the notion of theocracy.

With the nation, we see the stimulus, healthcare, infrastructure, etc. being whisked past us without hardly a "sniff-test" so that more central government "gasoline" can be thrown on the "fire" of an out of control economy that will rapidly require more central government "fuel!"

In our churches, the laity are getting lax and, through many of the modern "programs," turning the reins of our spiritual lives over to the professional clergy. One thing that brings this to mind is the "Experiencing God" program I am taking that, in the final chapters puts "the pastor and his spiritual leaders" in charge of telling you what "God's directives" are -- what God's will for you is (which is something the RCC has always done but that had hardly touched the Evangelicals until now). Even my SBC used to be "congregation-centered" but seems now to be moving to this "pastor-led" model where it is your relationship with your church, not with God, that is emphasized.

Those that may be left behind are definitely being prepared for the coming "world system."

The Soviet Union tried to keep their Jews in Russia under severe discrimination. They machine gunned them down when they tried to escape. What happened to the Soviet Union? Did they loose any territory (or countries)? It would suit me -- if the nations that encourage the division of Israel experience "divisions" of there own -- for Texas to become the "Lone Star Nation" again!! I think the first thing we would do is get rid of the "government subsidized settlements" y'all have been buildin' down here!! Then we could join OPEC and charge a reasonable amount for our oil and gas. Course, we'd nationalize y'all's military, take over Mexico and annex it next -- make the Alamo the capital just to rub their noses in it! :lol2

Just a note regarding "judgment" and our board rules...there is a difference between God's lifting his hand of protection off a nation, and "the judgment". Nations will all be judged during the tribulation. American was greatly blessed due to the missionary work done and made possible by this country, America was Israel's friend...but when a country kicks God out ... :pray I'm with you, Bnl. God has and will bless this nation in proportion to the Christian influence that remains. But we have seen a diminution of this since Reagan and it really diminished dramatically during this last administration. This does not bode well for the Obama administration! But then neither does the soon-coming rapture!! :yeah

God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever.
