These are the economic headlines that I grabbed from Drudge this morning...add them up and I'm seeing a very grim economic outlook in the foreseable future...Well evidently I'm the only one cuz the next headline says it all :heh

Obviously Bush is optomistic about America's economic outlook, he is a globalist afterall. Pretty soon the dollar will be so weak that the American people will be begging for the North American Union and the Amero.

I'm depressed at all this news....just don't really know how to protect our assets anymore. :idunno We just can't run out and exchange our $dollars for Euros or buy gold. We have no debt except our house payment and that is quite low. I just don't like where all of this is going folks. It is just getting weirder and more surreal every day.
I pray the Lord calls us up soon :rapture.

Blessings to all,

This may be a bit off subject, but have you noticed that when oil was consistently around $70.00/barrel we had gas prices about 30 to 40 cents higher than now, when oil is at $82.00/barrel. I know it has to do with other things such as working refineries and storms in the gulf, etc. But it is just puzzling.

Brothers and Sisters we serve an Almighty God and I know that nothing outside of His Will can happen to any of us. Trust in the Lord, fear only Him,do not let your hearts be troubled, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and on the skies...surely our redemption is drawing nigh, even so, come quickly dearest Lord Jesus!:yeah

First of all, just as Ellen1 said, don't fear. Jesus is the Lord.

We just can't run out and exchange our $dollars for Euros or buy gold. Why do you think that? You can. I would go with the gold though over the euro. Hard to know for sure though.

Well, we do have mutual funds that hold gold and energy stocks and they are way up over the last few months....but it could all be gone with a crash...right? I mean, we don't physically hold the gold of course. It's an IRA and just can't cash that in and buy coins. Well, we could but look at the tax liability. Maybe we should just buy small amounts of gold, and more silver. It was over 13.00 an ounce today. Those 2 things and lots of tuna fish, peroxide, toliet paper (for barter)...:hehee

Blessings to all tonite...it will be OK. I am calmer this evening after much prayer. The Lord is in control even tho sometimes I get a bit wacky :heh

The Exchange Traded Funds for gold and silver (GLD and SLV respectively) actually take physical gold off the market and store it in a vault to cover everything purchased through the shares. So those are the best routes to own precious metals if you need a "market method" of doing so since you can't (as you said) cash out and buy coins. Buying GLD and SLV are as close as you can get to the real thing. You would not lose the money in a market crash because they are tied to the price of the underlying metals...not to the market.

Hope that helps,
