Beautiful song in my opinion. I think if I had to choose a song that would demonstrate my life that would be it. How I forget that circumstances do not define who I am.

In fact my singing skills rank up there with a wash basin full of angry wet cats none the less I want to sing this song in church one day.

How true All for Him. It has such a beautiful message. How the world will ask how we can praise Him in the storm but yet it is in the storm we should draw near to Him.

I am so guilty for running from Him when the storm hit. How God is so loving to us.

Me too.
If a person doesn't run to Him in the storm, the ones coming afterward are going to be unbearable. The purpose of the storm is to learn to rely on Him, and even when one has seemingly "got it right" the storms will still come which is a total blessing, because the reward of taking part in the sufferings is knowing Jesus more and more. It truely is a priviledge not a curse, even though the world will look upon a person in this situation as being cursed.
And thus non-believers see this as being made a fool by the cross.

Lol...it is a nice song but it makes me a bit uneasy...I think it can be a bit dangerous to ask Jesus to "bring the rain!"

It's a song about surrender to him no matter what.
A person cannot do this on their own. God gives us the faith to stand in a storm that would otherwise take us down.
When we are weak in something He is strong, and that's where He shows his glory through us.
To say to God "bring the rain" here doesn't imply a state of pride, or irresponsibility in what we ask for, but rather willingness to surrender to the plan God has for us.

Does that make sense?

:hug Amen Franckie!! I dont feel I have a choice. I feel such peace and strength when I'm surrendered. I want to serve the Lord and fulfil my purpose here on earth. For me personally, that means complete surrender. He must increase with each passing day and I must decrease. Its not scary or dangerous to ask God to send the rain. He is a loving merciful God and will only do whats best for us.Everything He does, even the painful stuff is for our good! To know your exactly where God wants you, experiencing what He wants you to, is worth all the pain :idunno Plus He always sends a rainbow after every rain!!! Hallelujah!! All glory, honor and praise to you Lord!! :pray

I'm not banging on the song, lol, I'm just saying that it's like telling your daddy that you would learn better if he spanks you once in a while. He will do it anyway if it needs to be done, but I'm not one to suggest it!

It's not about punishment at all, it's about the expectation of your faith being tried for God's glory, and accepting this as God's will.

Example:
James 1:2-12 (New American Standard Bible)

2Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
3knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
4And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. 5But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
8being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
9But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;
10and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away. 11For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.
12Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

I really don't mean to be harsh in saying this but there is no other way to say it so I'll just put it out there.
If, as a believer in Christ, a person's faith is not tried, then there is no faith. A servant is not greater than his master and if Christ said His life was tried and proven to glorify God (Luke 22:28 NASB"You are those who have stood by Me in My trials), then shouldn't we as servants expect these trials.
In different aspects and levels for different people, but never the less the same concept.
