A spokesman with the Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD) says the U.S. Episcopal Church is at a crossroads.
This week, the House of Bishops plans to meet with conservative leaders in the church --known as primates. The conservative leaders will ask for assurance, that by September 30 the church will no longer approve the consecration of bishops living in homosexual relationships, or approve same sex blessings.

A conservative Anglican theologian believes the Episcopal Church will attempt to formulate a compromise that falls short of demands put forth by world Anglican leaders.
Episcopal bishops are currently meeting in New Orleans to decide whether to obey an order from the international leadership of the Anglican Communion that calls for an end to the consecration of homosexual bishops and blessings of "same-sex unions". The Episcopal Church has until September 30 to comply with the order, or risk losing its membership in the world-wide Anglican Communion.
Dr. Kendall Harmon, Canon Theologian for the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina, says it is very unlikely the Episcopal Church will agree with what Anglican leaders are asking. He says the denomination is in denial about its drift from Biblical truth.

I think the conservative people in the Episcopal church she just go ahead and leave the mainstream church since it is accepting homosexuals and straying from the Bible and church doctrine. Maybe they should just start a conservative-only branch of Episcopalions.

Don't they also allow some new insane blasphemous trinity ideology, didn't they say it could be father, mother and son also. As long as it was a trinity. I could be wrong I read so much stuff all the time and when it's false doctrine it just gets thrown out with the rest of the static from this sick world. I would have left along time ago.

I grew up Baptist, had a spiritual crisis in my teens and then converted to the Episcopalian Church before I married my husband. At the time, I did not see any problems with the Episcopal Church, but I did not have my eyes or heart open. The problems run much deeper than anyone can imagine.
When I began attending a Baptist Church again last year with my children, I was amazed at how blind I had been. My Episcopal diocese is one of the three most conservative dioceses in the nation...and there are still multiple problems. The Bible is not taken as the infalliable word of God, they border on idol worship (depending on the church) and it seems almost everything is open for 'interpretation'. I know a priest who does not believe in Hell and another priest who performs gay 'marraige ceremonies' in his church. It has become a "feel good" church with the motto of "Let's not offend anyone."
I pray that I can speak to people and show their hearts the truth. I can't bear the thought of anyone going to Hell. It seems that our world gets worse and worse by the day.

you are so right. The Episocopal Church and the UMC aka United Methdoist Church churches here in Omaha for instance support all kinds of apostasy so anything that happened in the UMC or the Episcopal Church USA dont surprise me anymore.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

If they are actually trying to make a deal with the world-wide Anglican body then they certainly are in denial as was suggested! This stuff isn't negotiable folks! Either you accept it or move on. I can't understand why they want to be a religion associated with Christ and teach the Bible when everything said in that book is abhorrent to them!
I don't mean to poison this thread, but if I remember correctly, there is also a take-off of the Lutheran church that also believe in homosexual unions, etc.
