I make stained glass gifts and cup & saucer candles. Also sell basic stained glass supplies and microwave glass "kilns". Check out www.ramstainedglass.com
I do this too! Not this company, though. I buy my stained glass sets at Michaels' Art stores (not sure if these stores are nationwide?), and my glass and frames separately, and go from there. I love it! Could you show us some of the pieces you've done?

HOw pretty. If you don't mind my asking, aprox. how much $per month do you bring in with a skill like this? (I have a friend who has a hobby of caligraphy, but doesn't do it for a living.)

Thanks, Viva. I bring in anywhere from $2K-$3K per month, depending on the time of year. Right through the end of November is BUSY. I will have worked with about 400+ brides by the end of the year.

I currently do childcare 3 days a week, but that will be coming to an end soon. I have been hired by Alpine Access, but haven't been able to take a position yet because of the hours. I also have started making polymer clay babies(go to ebay and type in polymer baby to see what they are) that I hope to sell soon.

This is cool. I've surfed ebay for pricing ideas on how to sell my own used stuff, but haven't actually placed bids online. I even have some things I'd like to sell on ebay, BUT (deep confession here) am so clueless on the computer, I don't even know how to post photos!:fear (I know it's reallly easy, and people have tried to show me how...but without specific instructions, I'm lost.)
Anyway, maybe someday on my long 'to do' list, I'll get around to ebay.
It's neat to see you are so adept at this that you feed your family with the extra income!:nod
Oh my goodness. :hug You've got to try. I am soo sooo soooo totally clueless on a computer. I must admit it's my hubby ( he's a tech geek :) ) who taught and teaches me how on computer stuff. Ebay does have tutorials and such, you just have to search their site.
It was trial and error for the first part, and now, only two years later after starting, that I'm really learning. I've made mistakes on buying, I must admit and have had to sell stuff for the price I bought it, but I've learned that hit and miss isn't going to cut it, but now, once I find out what people can't find in stores, I'm quick to buy.
Dollar Tree / Big Lots / Rugged Wearhouse / Goodwill are the best places I visit and find bargains or discontinued items:) . I do have a plus as while I'm out and shopping, I call hubby and he'll look up something I find on ebay to see if it's worth buying it, but, although 9 times out of 10, I go with my gut.
I wish I'd kept detailed records of what I'd bought, paid for and then sold and profit and such, but I am so not organized...I can't even balance a checkbook or should I say I don't have the time to and I honestly trust God with it. We tithe and give extra and I figure, with His Grace, it's there and is accounted for. I just say ok, I made so much this week and can spend this much on groceries and put this much back into ebay....We don't go crazy with anything we buy and with five kids, the mortgage, and bills, we aren't living on easy street.
But, I really believe that if God's given me the strength to homeschool my five, one of whom is special needs and do the ebay thing and work outside the home cleaning two homes twice a month, then anyone can do this. I'm not giving myself kudos, I just know it takes hard work, but this is what I will and can do for me to stay home with my kids and be able to work and be HOME. God is the only One who gives me the strength and energy to do any of it.
Home is where I've always wanted to be. I praise God that He allows me to be here.

Oh and I just read a post on mystery shopping. A plus to get free food and gas, and other stuff. Volition.com gives a whole list of mystery shopping companies. Check it out. Not a ton of time to complete the shop or report, but for free food and some free gas.... the car kind, not food kind, sorry, I reread my post, and thought......:aha
