If so, what do you do to bring in a little extra income?
Since I'm new here, I'd like to get to know some of you, and this will help me.
I'll start: I used to teach art in the public school system, but 'retired' when I had my kids, so now I teach private art lessons from our home, and recently started selling Arbonne skin care products.
Both these things bring in just enough money for me to do a few projects around the house that we normally wouldn't have the budget money for.
What do you all do?

Hi Adoration! :hat
I am single/no kids, but I work from home 3-4 days per week. Our business offers Internet based occupational health & safety services, so almost everything is done on a computer. I have a pretty high tech setup here and I love it.
Nice to meet you! You'd hate to see my art work though. Stick figures get the better of me. :doh

Adoration,
We are looking for an art teacher for our HSed children, do you have any tips for finding a good one? Anything we should ask?

Sure, Mom. BTW, Homeschooling is awesome!!! I wish I could, but my hubby disagrees with it (which is another topic!)
Here's what I would stress for hiring:
That the teacher loves God's creation, and natural beauty, and is going to share this enjoyment with your kids in art.
That the teacher knows how to draw realistically (ask to see some of their work), and is willing to teach your kids art basics, such as drawing animals/humans from basic shapes (circles, ovals, etc), shading so their work looks realistic, color application (the applying and mixing of various shades of color to get a realistic effect), and simple perspective (making houses, and landscapes look as though they go backwards into space, thus creating distance in your art work).
These are some of the things I teach my younger students (i teach 5th and 6th graders private art lessons, as well as adults).
Hope some of these ideas help you out!

A lot of people have phone jobs where they can pick their own schedule. Most of them are for processing orders from customers (not outbound sales). Good if you like talking on the phone. If you do a search for work place like home you can find the different companies that do that.

I ebay from home. I love it! It's a bit addicting though, but it feeds my kids and hubby. Part of the thrill is finding something for way little and then selling for way lot. :)
We may be moving to another city though, and I've got a ton of inventory. Moving a household, five kids, two cats, a dog, and a ton of ebay stuff....:gaah

I have a part-time job outside the home. The job itself isn't bad, but I hate not being at home. I homeschool in the mornings too. I feel like I'm running myself ragged. :(

I'm Free...I know what you mean! I hate being away from home as well, and that is why I didn't go back to a formal job after the kids...fortunately we could afford to do this.
We are tight financially, but do get all the bills paid. I'm working part time just to give us a little more flexibility with cash.
Praying for you to not feel so stretched so thin! That's a bad feeling.:hug
