According to revelation 20.... the gog-magog battle occurs after the rapture, after the tribulation and after our 1000 year reign with Christ on earth. How then is gog-magog revelent to anything in present tense if it is at a minimum 1007 years from now...?

Can someone please help me tie all this together in a timeline with scripture references.

Thanx.:idunno

Revelation 20
The Thousand Years
1And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
4I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Satan's Doom
7When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

It's generally agreed on that the Gog Magog of Ezekiel and the Gog Magog of Revelation are two different battles.

Some will use that to advocate a post-trib position while others will tell you that there are two Gog/Magog wars. Jack Kelley's site has a plethera of information on this and other subjects. Here's a link to an overview of Ezekiel 38-39.

Well Ezekiel 38:16 says the battle is in the last days not at the end of the millennium.

Well Ezekiel 38:16 says the battle is in the last days not at the end of the millennium.

The "last days"....is wide open to interpretation.Where do we find specific scripture references that separate or tie the two references of these events?:scripture

The "last days"....is wide open to interpretation.

And so is Gog and Magog. :)

And in Ezekiel 38 it says Gog will go to a land that has recovered from war. If it was at the end of the millennium where there will be no war then that would be a land that has been recovering from war for a thousand years. That doesn't sound right does it? And in Ezekiel 37 you have the dry bones and Israel becoming a nation again and in Ezekiel 38 and 39 you have the Gog Magog war and then in Ezekiel 40 you have the millennium temple.

Here's another great Jack Kelley article that explains Rev. 20-22. Jack shows how Rev. 20 v.1-6 take place during the millenial reign/Kingdom Age. Rev. 21 & 22 come next, in sequence of actual events. Then Rev. 20 v. 7-15 finish off what happens at the end of the millenial reign/Kingdom Age (just prior to eternity.) So, there is a thousand year gap between Rev. 20 v.6 and Rev. 20 v.7. Which would mean that obviously, according to v.6 the holy who are priests of God and Christ, that reign with him for a thousand years, (WE who are raptured,) are in this millenial/Kingdom Age. As are tribulation survivors and saved Jews, who are re-populating the earth while satan is bound. Then v.7 = 1000 years later when satan is unbound and again deceives the nations. So the Gog and Magog mentioned here HAS to be a separate battle from Eze.38. It's a battle that happens after the 1000 yr. reign, but just prior to eternity.

Rev. 20:7-8

7And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison

8And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Refers to all of the earth at this time.....not just to the land of Magog to the north ....and coming against the encampment of the saints at the end of the millenium.....this is very interesting and confusing at the same time.

Searching for an answer.....
