As title. This is a little test of maturity of believers.

If your Jesus is Captain Kangaroo, then you got the wrong one and yes it does matter.
Some doctrinal issues are more critical than others. The doctrine of the Trinity is absolutely critical. But the doctrine of the pre-trib rapture, although important is not critical to salvation.

Yes. Jesus is all I need! Acts 16:29:34
29Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
34And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Jesus of the Bible is also NOT the same Jesus of the mormons and the Jehovah Witnesses.
You have to be careful Which Jesus you claim, because there is a huge difference.

We need Bible Doctrine to reveal truths and expose errors.
The Emergent movement is relegating scripture to mythology so they can impress their false beliefs upon others, such as 'the universal christ is within everyone and can be worked out through rituals'.
The Charismaniac movement is spouting 'words of knowledge' over scripture to cajole their false beliefs upon others.
The Catholic movement created another christ, a Eucharistic Jesus, and uses traditions of men over Scripture.
Joseph Smith created a Mormon Jesus, brother of satan, and another gospel to add to scripture

2 Corinthians 11:4 (King James Version)
4 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."

This is a little test to see if everyone buys into the existential syrupy poison that "Doctrine is garbage - I only want and need about Jesus!". This claim overlooks a few factors:
1. The identity of Jesus;
2. Believe in what Jesus had done;
3. What is a believer's life;
In fact, doctrine does matter because it crystallizes the truth about God, what we actually believe and why we believe. And from the results so far, I'm extremely worried about current teachings within evangelical Christendom.

Paul stated that "all Scripture [which includes the teachings of Jesus Himself] is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
So don't understand how anyone can claim that they have Jesus if they think that His teachings (i.e., His doctrine) is not important. That does not even make any sense.
If someone has been taught that doctrine is not important, then they have also been taught a doctrine. The only difference is that they have been taught a false doctrine. So, in spite of the ways that people try to get around this fact (seemingly to avoid correction (http://members.tripod.com/jdlarsenmn/correction.htm), as I mentioned in that article), they simply cannot. A doctrine is simply something that is taught. So if someone is teaching something (including the idea that doctrine is not important), then they are teaching a doctrine. It's that simple.
