I've made a major move (overseas as a non military individual unaffiliated with the military) and am married... and have finally made it back to RR. :yay


DH and I now have a "bun in the oven", and I am back for fellowship now that I am a SAHW soon to be SAHM.

We got married legally last year in Germany on what was this year Rosh Hashanah ... funny how things creep up on you like that! We specifically had it before the holidays. :D:

Then, we had our 'big shebang' on June 23 as I had been telling your dad I was pondering doing, since it was my grandparent's anniv.

My grandfather passed away 2 years ago in Feb, just 4 months before my sister's marriage, and I hadn't been able to visit during thanksgiving with him like my mom, dad and sister had been able to... so it was a big shock and something I am still really dealing with. I see folks out here that remind me of him, because this is a farming community and I remember riding on his tractor or going and working their little 'field' with him during our visits in summer..

I didn't get a chance to ask him, but I did ask my grandma and she was cool with it. They'd been married 53 years if I recall correctly!

DH and I were together 7 years (talk about Jacob and Rebecca! LOL) and engaged for about 5 of it.

Our wedding as I said was June 23, the 4th day of the 8th month in the Hebrew Calendar.

We had it at my parent's congregation and made the Chuppah with a (ahem) Walmart purchased camping gazebo and bedsheets. Sorry, can't sew so had to improvise since I am obviously a J.A.P. wannabe and haven't loads of $$ LOL

I'll have to hunt up a photo from last Sept's legal marriage.. we had a nice shot of us together in the waiting area that we did for our 'thank you' cards. the mayor of our village did the honors. that was cool!

As crazy as it sounds we got our ketubah from 1-800-ketubah.com. Our artist was VERY VERY helpful to us.

Ok, let me get this straight. You signed the ketubah 2 years ago, you got married last september, and you had your "shebang" this june? I like the pictures! Very cute!


ooooh I like your wedding pictures too!!! Really pretty!!! I love the red on your dress. I would have used that color for my wedding, but Thad's sister used it, so I couldn't copy her! :rolleyes I love 2-tone wedding dresses, too, but I was too traditional to go for one. I always say if Thad and I have another wedding that I'm getting a 2 tone dress this time! Your cake is beautiful too- I like the ribbons on it. Did he put the veil on you? Was there a special significance of that? The ketubah looks AWESOME!!! I love your shoes too!!! What was it that you guys were stepping on?

Ok, last one. The picture with your rings on the Bible and they make a heart shaped shadow- that is really cool!!! I have never seen that before!!! You have to frame that one and have it out somewhere! Your ketubah is really pretty too. 1-800-ketubahs- thats funny. :lol2

Thad and I got married on June 25th, 2005, so thats only 2 days ( and 2 years:) ) away from yours! That is so amazing that you were together for so long before you got married. Thad and I were together 3 years and it seemed like an eternity. Of course now that were married time is just flying by! :lol2 We got married on the "anniversary" of the day we met, 3 years later. I always thought that was kind of cool.

I'm sorry about your grandfather. :hug I know what that is like. I still miss my dad and think about him every day.

So, when are you due??? I have baby fever really bad. I have to keep reminding myself that we will have a baby when God wants us to. I do really want one though. Are you going to find out if its a boy or a girl or be surprised?
