when considering the Gog/Magog being a pretrib event.....then with most of Israel's enemies destroyed....Islam practically back in the closet....a huge vacuum in the middle east.....would Israel need a peace covenant...would temple mount and the dome of the rock be major issue any longer......would any nation dare come against Israel after such a massive victory....
insight anyone ???

Most have set Gog/Magog at mid-trib. This is the battle that breaks the peace.

I think most here place G/MG pre-trib b/c we feel it leads to the a/c covenant.

I have often felt that the peace treaty would be initiated by the remaining world powers to protect them FROM Israel after seeing the devestation brought on the invading forces by God.
It would also buy them some time to re-group and come against Israel again at Armageddon.

That's a good one, I've never thought of it that way before, makes sense! And there's only one who breaks the treaty halfway the trib. and that's the a/c.

Now that's an interesting view I never considered. You might just be on to something there.

according to Ezekiel...Israel has been reconciled to the Lord God .....so if this is the case.....why would Israel accept the A/C / messiah or any covenant knowing they are under God's protection............

interesting thought...
however, i believe that the peace deal will be "acceptable" to islamic nations ONLY for the sake of deception and advancing their cause...
especially since the koran is so explicit about the reasons that muslims can enter into a "cease fire" or a "peace treaty"...and those reasons have only to do with advancement of their agenda (take over the world)....

It would seem to me that Ezekiel 39:21-29 basically tells us when it happens but :idunno

Ezekiel 39:9 “Then the people in the towns of Israel will go out and pick up your small and large shields, bows and arrows, javelins and spears, and they will use them for fuel. There will be enough to last them seven years!
:heythere Hmm, 7 years! I think this is a huge clue that Gog/Magog is near the beginning of the trib. I don't buy the argument that they won't be burning weapons in the second half of the trib, due to the fact the Jews will be persecuted then. You have to make scripture fit that would make this war have to be at least 3.5 yrs before the trib starts. The scripture says "the people in the towns of Israel", which doesn't necessarily have to mean Jews. I think reading scripture as straightfoward and literally as you can is the best way to go.
The argument about it being at the end of the trib doesn't fit either. Not even taking into account the many differences between Gog/Magog and Armageddon looking at other scriptures, why would people be burning weapons and burying people after the Millenium starts? :idunno I believe the Lord himself will be doing cleanup duty with the hailstorm and massive earthquake that reshapes the landscape. :thumb
