I told myself not to read anymore of this thread, but here I am back again. I just want to remind everyone, that the original post was about Hal Lindsey's belief that if one parent in a marriage was a Christian, then the children would go in the Rapture. He used 1 Cor 7:14 as proof.

Here is the Scripture from the Amplified Bible:

14For the unbelieving husband is set apart (separated, withdrawn from heathen contamination, and affiliated with the Christian people) by union with his consecrated (set-apart) wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart and separated through union with her consecrated husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean (unblessed heathen, [a]outside the Christian covenant), but as it is they are [b]prepared for God [pure and clean].

Where does this Scripture say anything about who goes in the Rapture or that either the unbelieving spouse or children are saved?:idunno

If we believe God, can't we just leave these issues to Him? He is perfect and will do what is just and right and we will find Heaven to be more than anything we can hope for or imagine.

Since losing a son at the age of 16, the age of accountability has been something I've been studying and searching for the past 4 1/2 years. I BELIEVE IT IS THE AGE OF 20.

In the desert with Moses, it was the people who were 20 and older who had to die and in other verses, it states that a boy is not a man until the age of 20 and a girl is not a woman until the age of 20. There are more statements such as this, but why would the age of 20 be so dominent, a "cut-off" point so-to-speak? As we've all gotten older and look back at the time when we let go of our childish ways, it was around the age of 20. It seems to be the age when we take responsibility and have a new understanding of right from wrong, good from evil, etc.

In my spirit, I truly believe it's the age of 20.

This will not be forever. There is coming a day at the last trump, the Lord is going to descend out of the clouds and he is going to have our children with him!We will be changed and we will meet the Lord in the air!We will never suffer over their deaths, ever again.:hug

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every TEAR from their eyes. There will be no more DEATH or MOURNING or CRYING or PAIN,for the old order of things has passed away.
Revelation 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said," I am making everything new!" Then he said," Write this down, for these words are Trustworthy and True."

Amen!! :yeah

What a beautiful picture!! I LOVE it ............ Jesus embracing our child. That picture paints a thousand words. Eternal words!!!

We ALL live in sin. We ALL live in a cursed sinful world. When people say you or I or all 6 billion of us live in sin, it typically means we are living in a sinful world. Even after we accept Christ, we live in sin. Touchy touchy! :hug

Not touchy. You are just very judgmental. You told me "when" I lived in sin. That is a specific time. And, you accused me of not caring about my pets and being cold-hearted.

We all sin, but do not live in sin. You might say that a practicing homosexual is living in sin, but I am saved by the blood of Christ and I do not live in sin. Yes, I do sin, but I don't wake up living in it.

No, don't try to backtrack. You were very specific about me.

That means the children of unbelievers go to Hell, then, when they die. After all, only the members of the Church go to Heaven, right? Well, them and their children.

No, it does not mean that. They just aren't part of the church. Those that have chosen Christ are the only ones that will escape the rapture. Those that are left behind will have one last chance to choose Christ. We all have to make a decision. I just believe they will just have to endure the wrath that we will escape because we chose Christ. Otherwise, what else does that scripture mean?

The bottom line here is that you're all talking about things on which Scripture has no clear teaching. We must just learn to trust that the Lord who is loving, righteous and just knows EXACTLY what He is doing. STOP limiting God - or else you limit your own minds. God's plan is wholly good and wholly perfect - we just do not know about children or pets or anything of the likes. Whatever happens we can be sure of one thing - we will be 100% happy. Mishk.

Totally agree.

Thank you. You are so correct. God is perfect and his plan is PERFECT!!!!!! When God does not tell us something for sure, why can't we just trust???:idunno

Prayers please.
dh has negligence deposition tomorrrow at 9 am (representing Mario) negligence on the utility co that had the gate locked and unmarked. It has since been removed and replaced. I am thankful for that. No one else's child will have to pay with their life because of others negligence.
Thank you Jesus, Mario is now safe in your arms.

Lord Jesus, be with Mark tomorrrow. I pray your Holy Spirit will be beside him giving him strength through this process and be ever present in that room. I pray this doesn't go to trial but I trust your will Lord.
Thank you Jesus, in your precious, Holy, name, Amen.
