Can We Cooperate With False Teachers?
Host: Ingrid Schlueter
Guest: Dave Marriot
Listen: RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD
To listen we recommend Windows Media,
RealAudio, Winamp, or QuickTime players.
Ingrid opens this edition of Crosstalk by addressing a story concerning the Faith Advisory Council appointments made by President Obama including Bill Hybels' wife,
the head of the NAE, the head of the homosexual Metropolitan Community Churches, the head of the Episcopal church, etc.
It's a veritable toxic cauldron of religious adherents all working for public/private partnerships for ‘social justice’.
Ingrid then segues into the main topic by asking a question that gets to the core of this Crosstalk.
Are born-again Christians allowed to take part in gatherings of false teachers/teachings even if they intend to be a “shining light” and propose to tell the truth to those in attendance?
This is where Ingrid introduces Pastor Dave Marriot of Lakewood Baptist Church in Delafield, Wisconsin.
From the Bible’s teaching in places such as Galatians 1, 1 Corinthians 5, 2nd John, as well as the book of Jude;
Dave makes a clear case for why we have greater warrant to separate from professing believers who are living in open opposition to the true teachings of Scripture than from known apostates.
As the program notes, Christians need to be vigilant.
False teachers that attack cardinal doctrines of the faith are a reality and the Bible doesn’t teach us to address such individuals via dialogue and relational ministry.
These teachers need to be called out for who they are because their desire is to pervert the gospel and destroy the faith of some.
