Currently my kids are at a 2 day school for subjects like History, Science, Spanish and Art.

Anyway..... I am thinking of keeping the kids home full time next year. I want to do a notebooking approach for History and Science. I REALLY feel that this is what I must do. Please pray that my kids would accept the news graciously. They enjoy school, but I think they enjoy the interaction with the other kids the most. If I keep them home, it would give us time to do park day and field trips with the homeschool group in this area. That would give them the interaction that they desire and they could build friendships there.

Please keep us in prayer this school year. Hubby and I have been praying and we really feel this is the way to go.

Thanks

I want to add to this:

Lord I ask that you guide wife and her dh in this decision and that you help the kids to get on board with whatever Your will is for them.

I especially ask for protection over homeschooling here in America. Please Lord, allow us to be cast in a good light to the public. Protect our rights to continue to do this. Protect any children who are being homeschooled for the wrong reasons. Bless what we are doing for Your Kingdom.
Amen

In His love,

Well they are homeschooled 3 days a week and then they go to a private homeschool tutorial..

My son did mention that he wanted to take guitar lessons and I told him that we just don't have the time. So I may bring that up when we talk about it after Christmas. Plus the homeschoolers here do tons, like field trips, park days etc. So I am going to bring that up too

Thanks eveyone. I got a little update.

My kids use School of Tomorrow for a few of their subjects, My kids love workbooks and well, this is just perfect for them. Anyhow, my dd in first grade always finishes first (of course) and she is not very good at playing quietly :panic.. So I got her the first 3 paces in science and social studies. My oldest son looked at them and said "what is social studies" I said "it is history" he said "you mean they have history?? I want to do their history!!" woo hooo. So I told him that I would get him. The history for him to do. I really think he thought that the only way to do history is to do it through the tutorial.. So his heart is open to staying home:yeah

I picked after Christmas to talk to them about it. thanks for all your prayers!!

Praying.... Question though? What is a private tutorial school? I've never heard of that?

It is a 2 day school for homeschoolers. Basically they teach some subjects (depending on the tutorial) and you do homework with the kids at home.

the one that my kids go to teaches History, Science, Spanish, Creative Writing and Art. I thought it would be more fun and classical in nature, but there is just too much homework that to me is just busy work.
