I had my dads Mormon Bible, and even tho it was his bible, I put it in the dumpster. Well, I couldnt, but someone else did it for me, this was after my dad had passed away, and it was one of his personal things. At the same time, I couldnt keep it in my house either. I hated the fact that they are so bold as to bind into one big book the book of mormon and the Holy Bible.

I have always been curious about the secret underwear too.
I mean if you are going to make up your own religion and all ... wouldn't secret underwear be in among the doctrines? :hehee

Interesting discussion. Carma's responses seemed "programmed" to me. Of course I don't know if that's true, but that's the feeling I got.
I've met a few mormons during my life but I've never gotten into any serious discussions with them.
Someone said "creepy" and that's a very good description!

My dad was a mormon, and he alwasy wanted us to convert. i would talk to him, but he would not listen. I got a book about what mormons believe and asked him questions from it. Then I would tell him the truth about it backing it up with scripture, but he still wouldnt have any part of what I had to say. We got on the subject of baptism once, I probably surprised him, told him I could baptize someone if necessary, you dont have to be anyone special to do it. He couldnt believe I said that. I wouldnt doubt that he was probably baptized for me so I could go to heaven.(according to their doctrine) I hope he had done the essential thing and was ready to meet the Lord when he died, but only God knows the outcome of that one.
you have to be dead before they can go in your name to be baptized

Oh well, if it were possible, He would have done it. You are right. I dont make it a point to keep their doctrine totally straight, just keep in my heart what the Lord wants.
I am terrible at trivia.

I only remember this part cause my sister and I had a fight over it. She wanted to go and be baptized on our grandparents name. I hit the ceiling!!! Our grandparents were raised in the Baptist church... and I pray they had received our Lord as their Savior.
