Hey read your post on the chat with Mormons...wow you are right. I went on AOL chat in a Q&A room on Mormonism. They want to pull out one or two scriptures but when you do, they say...you only gave me one or two scriptures...then they get defensive and rude and even go to the extreme of ignoring you.
I asked about something a mormon coworker told me once. She said that Adam was the angel Michael and won the right to be the first man. I said you mean the archangel Michael? then was told there were not any archangels mentioned in the Bible...but then I gave scripture. Took him back by surprise. Then it was like I was told the same verse over and over and over...you are right..just like someone is taught by brainwashing....rote learning. Same answer for everything.
So chatting is very interesting, but at the same time so sad. Then when I started to state scripture it turned into rudeness. Then I said there is one thing I know...(but before I could finish) the comeback was drum roll....fanfare...we are all waiting on pins and needles...then I said I wouldn't make rude comments to someone who was asking me about my faith, I'd be respectful. Then I said I'd pray for them...oh wow they sure don't want a non Mormon to pray for them...it was like wow you are so holier than thou..arent you. I said what you don't want someone to pray for you? Ok if you don't want me to pray for you then I won't but I never turn down someone who says they will pray for me. TAlk about defensive.
My chat wasn't as good as the one posted here. I never got stars for memorizing Bible verses in SS. Guess I need to start now. I just don't like people to take scripture without context out. (in any religion.) That is why I love our Calvery Chapel church...scripture in context verse by verse church.
Oh well I will pray for all the Mormons in that chatroom, even though I don't know them by name, God does.
