Could you post a link for that statistic? I'd like to know a little more.
Sure thing!

This is the Medicare Trustees' Report to Congress for FY2007.
If you look at page 11, you'll see a chart showing the Medicare program for 2006. Total expenditures in 2006 were $408.3 billion...the "administration" portion of that was $6.3 billion.
That comes out to 1.5%
So Medicare is actually twice as efficient as I had stated...

Doesn't "$5,000 for every child" = "a chicken in every pot"?
$5,000, a chicken, etc., IT'S ALL THE SAME BALOGNA!:groan
This is what I was thinking....that and 40 acres & a mule. Nothing new just a new delivery...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 "baby bond" from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home.

Sounds to me like a different way to steal our money like they have with Social security.

Foreshadows of a socialist regime masquerading as compassionate.
Forget God's provision or taking personal responsibility for shaping your life .... let the government control it all from cradle to grave.:twitch

...and what impact will those extra dollars have on the market? Devaluation of our currency and inflation, I'll bet.
So, do my kids appreciate something I give to them, that costs them nothing, or something that they have to earn?
My friend's son wanted a limo for homecomming, and he said Yes...if you earn the money for it. After he earned the money, he felt the limo was too expensive to waste the hard hours of work he had spent.
Is there any way to stop the Hillary socialist machine from winning the election?

What about the people who will start having babies because they think that they'll be getting $5000?

If I understand the proposal, the money would go to the child, not the parents. In essence, when the child turns 18, he or she will have some type of access to it -- whether for college or for a home.
Sure thing!

Wait...I thought more babies was a good thing...Babies ARE a good thing, IF they are conceived for the right reasons. NOT getting more subsidiaries, which is done already by many GETTING those funds.
