I think i have around 20 pairs or more.. but most are in the States and I have maybe 4 pair here of regular shoes and I know I have two set of ballet flats (for exercise and dance class or dancing)..

Dad joked that I had taken after Imelda Marcos as well, which is funny considering the only thing I really remember from the news about her is after she and her husband were deposed, all the shoes she had and clothes... oh my!

I usually go through them to see if there is something I don't use and give to charity.
But I have a hard time matching shoes with some outfits so I can see the need to have two or three pairs of shoes to each outfit.. or 'outfit style'..

ahhh... thats where my brilliance is...

i wear jeans and t shirts, sometimes dressier sleeved or embellished- collar shirts- no real need to match shoes.

and i don't go to many formal events, if i do i have a simple black dress or two for those and the leather shoes match it, i just use jewelery accessories to change it up.
this is necessary about 1 every 2 years :heh

my work clothes consist of black jeans and collared uniform shirt... my brown crocs work for that....

my sneakers i never wear cause they hurt my heel spurs...

According to this article the average Atlanta woman spends $202 per pair of shoes. 59% have WAY more than 11 pair.

I have a pair of crocs for everyday and a pair of suede clog-type slip on shoes for church. I also only have one purse.
I may have old shoes or purses in the garage or attic, my Mom and sister kept trying to initiate me into the high heel club and kept giving me shoes but I haven't used anything but the two pair and one purse for at least a year. My crocs replaced just about everything else, they are sooooo comfy.
Just not a girly girl. I'd rather have gadgets than clothes or shoes. I like being comfy, too. High heels, OUCH.

I have about 35 pairs not counting flip flops. I absolutely adore cute shoes. I'm girly girl and shoes make the entire outfit. I however have never, ever spent more than $30 on any one pair, although I would if I could. But I look for sales so I don't have to buy poor quality ones. It's my only indulgence, heaven help me. My hubby has no room to talk as his golf clubs and tee times usually cost more than my shoes.

I am the type of person who tends to buy one brown and one black pair of each thing...because some of my clothes go with brown tones, the other black. I do purge about once a year and I am due to purge soon. The other problem is that I have feet that are sized differently (about 1/2 to 1 size difference) and one foot is much narrower than the other. Blisters can be a problem--particularly on my heel, usually my left foot. With that said, I like to have a type of shoe for each occasion. I hate tennis shoes except to use the treadmill. Another problem, we travel and move a lot (both within the U.S. and overseas) and different climates/walking environments dictate my shoe inventory.

2 Pair (black/brown) very warm knee high boots for cold weather. ($40 each, Clarks brand)
1 Pair black knee high boots, dressy. Might be purging soon.
2 Pair ankle boots (black/brown). Will be purging a pair of these soon.
2 Pair (again, black/brown) low heeled pumps for interviews/dressier offices
1 Pair tennis shoes (treadmill or going to gym)
2 Pair flip flops (black/brown) for beach, poolside, walking
3 Pair fall/spring walking shoes (black/tan/brown) these are shoes that can dress up or down, and I can walk for miles on cobblestone streets in them, worn with or without socks. Good for in-between weather--fall/spring
1 Pair hiking boots, that my husband wanted me to get, that I've never worn (they were $25, Timberland) We each bought a pair, on sale, thinking that we'd use them on hikes through Germany. We wore other shoes instead. Probably getting purged.
3 Pair heels for dressiest occassions (black/cream/brown)
1 Pair watersocks (pink!) for beaches/lakes/waterfalls
7 Pair assorted sandals (brown/black) about 4 of these pairs are getting purged soon

About 20-30 Pair. I know that's a lot, but at least I've stuck to neutral colors. Most pairs get worn A LOT and I wear them for years before they fall apart. However, to my credit, I only pack a pair or two (plus what I wear on the plane) when we travel. We travel very light.

:tsk I'm sorry, men are not welcome here. This is a place for us women to comfort and encourage one another in an area as important and sensitive as our shoe wardrobes. :fishslap
