Michigan has the largest concentration of Muslims in the United States.

And the Dearborn area has the largest area concentration of Moslems in the US.

Based on the available data, Michigan will continue losing residents, as they are now. Many people want to live in a warmer climate after retirement, and the only hope for Michigan it seems, is more inmigration from, you guessed it, third world countries.

Or maybe "global warming" will make it a warmer climate. If they get their act together on taxes and spending, it will be a win win.

Of course, I know this to be true...but....

This really doesn't have anything to do with muslims. The economy is being driving by democrats. This state has voted democrat for a very long time, mostly because of the unions, and it is taking its toll.

Although, thanks be to our awesome God, our business, which should be tanking right now, is having it's best year since we opened it 12 years ago. When I look at the numbers we are doing better than even pre-9/11 days. There is absolutely no explanation other than God in this. We even had another brand new salon open up less than 1 mile from us and we are still way over last years numbers, which were the best ever to date.

For now, I think God is telling us to hang on here and we're listening to that. I just wish this state would get smart and get some conservatives (notice I didn't say republicans) in place to cut taxes and do the right thing.

Now even the DEMOCRATS won't participate in the Michigan Primary because our State Government can't get the dates right. Ms. Granholm....perhaps a career change?

My area of Michigan, (Brighton), nice little strip mall that has had a grocery store and other businesses in it for 20 years.

1/2 the stores are gone, the remaining ones are BARELY hanging on, small business is a mess around here, everyone is losing their shirt, not enough people to buy the products to keep people in small business.

The guys at the video store said it was 8:00 p.m. (we were renting a video) and talking about it, and he said, look at this, I have one customer at a prime time, I hope it gets better this winter. He looked pretty crestfallen.
I try and use these local small businesses for all my purchases, the only thing I can't do is abide the grocery store, way way to expensive.

This is worse then the late 70's and early 80's around here.
