I've always felt that the truth is found somewhere in the middle of the two extremes of Calvinism and Arminianism. Pastor Hoekstra.... does a great job of explaining this.

Hootmon ... if you are interested in a rather thorough study more or less on the topic you should get hold of the book "The Two Wills of God" by Puritan writer C. Matthew McMahon.

It takes a sturdy constitution to read it as it is some 550 pages and deals at a very detailed level using the "metaphysical reasoning muscle" more than most books one finds today.

It explains about the concept of the "Continuum" ... the outworking of the Plan of the Godhead. Just what did happen "before the foundation of the world" ...

I got it directly from McMahon a few years back (he was selling it on CD over the web) before it went to print, but it appears to be available on hard copy now ...

I have read it a few times and I get a bit more out of it each time (but you know that I'm a little thick) ... :lol2

If you get it I do guarantee you will be effected by it. Gives one a lot more to think about ...
