Why do angels physically battle?

Oh no! Not another weird "goinghome" question. But I can't help but wonder about this one. God accomplishes so much by speaking, and we learn everything through reading what He has spoken, right? So why are the good angels physically fighting against the fallen angels in the spiritual realm. Why isn't it a war of words? I think for sure it would be an unfair fight, truth vs. lies, but does anybody have any good insight? I don't have an opinion, am not looking for any specific answer. At night I think about how many angels are battling it out in my house, probably stupid but I get excited by pondering the unknowable.:twitch:spew:aha

That is a deep and interesting question. The only thing that came to my mind was this:

When God himself spoke he created things. When a prophetic spoke he directed God's Word to one thing or situation.

When Jesus spoke He did the same thing.

When the Angels wrestle it appears in the Bible they too speak but to singularly. And remember that the enemy got control of the earthly heavens and earth itself with Adam's fall. So the enemy has a legal right until Jesus takes His rightful place.

Now I know God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and such but He used natural elements, He didnt speak its destruction except as a prophetic Word.

So maybe God only speaks things into existence when He Himself speaks but has to use Jesus, man, etc to speak against individual things?

Good reason for Jesus to come into the earth besides our Salvation.

Wow, you just came up with a great answer. It touched a few thoughts off for me. So because satan is the god of this world, earth, when the angels are fighting on our behalf it might not necessarily be just a general brawl of good and evil. It might be that the angels are holding back satan's minions on our behalf because we are not as good as Jesus at speaking the word of God against thoughts and temptations. The evil angels know this and come after us in full force when we don't speak against the powers and principalities of this world effectively through God's Word. Since we're not speaking it, they have to get physical.

If this is the case (I'm not saying it is, just figuring stuff out) then we actually help the angels by knowing God's word more thoroughly. It could be :idunno
