I read about this yesterday.
If VT secedes, they would stand on their own.

NH could just invade and take them over.

Live Free or Die!! HooYaa!!!

I remember reading something about North Carolina (I think it was) a long while ago, wanting to secede from the US and be a Christian only country/state. Anyone here remember that story?

I say let them do it. But they would have to give up federal protection from the country then also.

IMO the VT group doesn't have enough people to vote and make it happen. But if they do and the south follows, perhaps this is why no 5th power is mentioned in the endtimes. So many possibilities! We'll have to wait to see how it all unfolds.

I found this site, but it's about SC, not NC.

I can just hear them now:preach

Well the train to Grinder's Switch is runnin' right on time

And the Tucker boys are cookin' down in Caroline

People down in Florida can't be still

When ol' Lynyrd Skynyrd's pickin' down in Jacksonville

People down in Georgia come from near and far

To hear Dicky Betts pickin' on that red guitar

Chorus:
So gather round

Gather round children get down

You can get down children be loud

You can be loud here and be proud

You can be proud here be proud you a rebel

Cause the south's gonna do it again

Elvin Bishop's sittin' on a bale of hay

DARN right hansome and he sure can play

There's ZZ Top and you can't forget

That old brother Willie's gettin' soakin' wet

And all the good people down in Tennessee

Are diggin' barefoot Jerry and the CDB

Chorus:

So gather round

Gather round children get down

You can get down children be loud

You can be loud here and be proud

You better be proud here be proud you a rebel

Cause the south's gonna do it again

and again, and again, and again

The South's Gonna' Do It Lyrics by The Charlie Daniels Band

Tom, I've said it before and I'll say it again: YOU ARE JUST TOO BAD!!!!!:heh:lol2:spew:pound

Perhaps these people would be happier elsewhere. How about...Iran.

Oh, but of course that isn't their goal. But ripping the US to shreds IS.:ohno:tsk:shifty:rolleyes:doh

IMHO, the only state that could literally 'get away with' doing this, is the state of Texas which if I recall correctly (been a while since I lived there) has it in their state constitution and agreement to join the union that they could succeed and become their own country.

Actually, most of the original 13 colonies had language like that in their ratification of the Constitution, notably Virginia, New York and Rhode Island. New York was on the verge of secession and forming the Central Confederacy along with Pennsylvania and New Jersey, unitl Lincoln (The Great Dictator,) provoked the South into firing on Fort Sumter.

Really? 75% of our military is made up of people from the South and West. The Northeast is woefully under represented among the people on the sharp end of the Spear.
