Religion Must Be Destroyed, Atheist Alliance Declares

CNSNews.com) - Science must ultimately destroy organized religion, according to some of the leading atheist writers and intellectuals who spoke at a recent atheist conference in Northern Virginia. God is a myth, and children must not be schooled in any faith, they said, at the "Crystal Clear Atheism" event, sponsored by the Atheist Alliance International.

Some of the luminaries who spoke at the conference, held at the Crown Royal Hotel in Crystal City, Va., over the weekend, included Oxford professor Richard Dawkins, author Sam Harris and journalist Christopher Hitchens. The Atheist Alliance International describes itself as "the only democratic national atheist organization in the United States."

While most attendees on Friday night were adamant that God was a myth, the convention, attended by hundreds of people, brought into focus a divide among atheists as to their identity as a movement and the nature of the enemy they faced.

I was just thinking about this morning. I understand that they don't believe in GOD, and they think the real moral decay is religion. They have no problem making life miserable for believers and are constantly bashing GOD and mocking Jesus. (Insane) But never tell them that if they are wrong they are going to hell. That really get's their goats!:idunno Why should they be bothered with eternal torment and misery for all eternity? Oh, I know because their is no real "Athiest" on the entire planet.:doh

Yup! We must not have christians around to teach the nation that we are to love our enemies, be kind to one another, love one another and live at peace with our leaders. That would be a travesty.

Instead, man must be the final authority on conduct in order that his sexual exploits can be approved and abortions can be legalized to take care of his sexual "mistakes."

"Science" is the god of the atheists. They also have a "belief system" called non-belief, so they too practice a religious ritual and try to "convert" others to their way of darkness.

These guys are nothing more than sophisticated morons. Do they not understand, that the harder they squeeze, the more sand will run through their fingers? They are going to accomplish exactly the OPPOSITE of what they so desire by continuing on in this manner!!

I guess they aren't great students of history or the dialectic process. Every, and I mean every movement is subject to backlash and counter movement. This is why Karl Marx developed complex schemes to brainwash the masses, and gain control of educational institutions. This was an effort to STOP the dialectic process of movement and countermovement and prevent a "counterrevolution" against Communism.

Ultimately these atheists' angry, psuedo-intellectual ramblings will inspire MORE religious fundamentalism!

I always get a hoot out of atheists claiming that science can destroy religion, when by definition, science doesn't deal with the supernatural! :pound

I suppose they're trying to clump in evolution (a.k.a. we only have variation within species to back up our claims of molecules to man evolution) with science as usual, but evolution can't be observed, tested, or repeated. Therefore, it isn't even science. It's just an excuse to dismiss God.
