I'm ready to start losing again and would love some support! I joined WW last July and lost 22 pounds in about 3 1/2 months, then stopped going to meetings because I couldn't go at the time I had been anymore. I tried to stick with it at home, but the Holidays came and I no longer had the accountability of meetings. Needless to say, I gained back 12 of the 22 :gaah I have been losing and regaining the same 5 pounds ever since. I am no longer doing WW Flex because I hate counting points, but will be doing the Core program. I am basically just trying to eat healthy and exercise more. I'm working on cutting out all sugar, white flour and almost all processed foods while trying to eat more whole grains, lean meats, fish, fruits and veggies. I drink plenty of water and limit diet soda and coffee. I feel so much better when I eat this way that it is amazing that I let myself get off track so often :rolleyes
I'm going to check in here often and use you all for accountability if that's okay :shake

Thanks Robin. It works if I stick with it. I really like real foods better than frankenfoods, but I keep falling back into my old habits :rolleyes

One of the problems I have is that I have a very serious adverse reaction to Nutrasweet, and when I eat or drink things with Splenda, I have severe diahrrea. Makes it really hard to cut down on calories. I try to watch the fat in everything I eat. I picked up a carton on Low-fat ice cream from Giant Eagle the other day and was thrilled to see on the label that it has 45% less fat than regular ice cream. I bought my favorite flavor - butter pecan - YUMMY! But when I got it home and started to eat the first bowl, I really read the label and was devastated to see that a serving size is 1/4 cup. Know anyone who eats only 1/4 cup of icecream? NOT ME! That's the problem with the way things are labeled - you think you're eating fewer fat calories, then you find that the fat content is based on such a small serving that it takes about 5 times that much for most of us to even get a good taste of that particular food. And how are you supposed to weigh the meat portions? I want to lose some weight, but I refuse to let my life be ruled by a scale and constant worry over how many calories a food item has.
I agree with Gwen - God created the food of the earth to be enjoyed. What I need to learn is how to not be a "glutton."
I've considered Weight Watchers, but honestly, I can't really afford $48 a month. Weigh Down is basically a good program, even if Gwen is a little "off the cuff." Her basic teachings concerning food are pretty good. Don't eat when you're depressed, or feeling low. In other words, no comfort food. I never did hold with her spiritual teachings too much, but I still thought her teachings regarding eating and developing a new life style were really good.
(eat for physical reasons only, never for psychological reasons. Makes good sense to me. Stop eating when you feel slightly full. You can eat anything, as long as you do it in moderation. I haven't kept up with her teachings since I stopped the group, so I don't know how she teaches today.
Robyn - yes we should hold each other accountable for ourselves. I find that I am much more likely to succeed when I am held accoutable to others. So, if you'd like, we can share food ideas, and recipes, etc.
Good luck, and God Bless,

Well, I've really been getting into the walking, a lot last week and planning a lot for this week, walked 5 so far this week, and 17 last week, and its just amazing how much energy walking gives me the rest of the day! My house has been extra clean lately. When I walk for exercise it makes me think about Jesus and the people of that era and how they walked everywhere! They were really some in shape people!!! Plus, the outdoors and the sun shining really liefts my spirits up! Thank you God that winter is over!!!!!

Good morning everyone! I stayed on plan yesterday and was down 1 pound this morning :yay I know it's water weight, but I'll take it! My 39th birthday is in 9 days and I have a goal to be "fit and fabulous by 40". I have a lot to lose, but I know I can do it in the next year especially with support from everyone here. :thumbup
