I'm planning my wedding (August 25) and I've began a weight loss plan....and fell off the wagon. I began in January just going to the gym 3-5 times a week. I finally got to where I could be on the eliptical machine for 30 minutes without feeling like I was gonna die. I don't know where the weight came from except that my momma opened a coffee shop a little over a year ago. So I stopped drinking lattes unless they were skim milk. I don't do diet soda or sugar free or fake sugar because it fools the body and makes us think "well if I have the big mac and diet coke I'll be ok" but the big mac is still 1200 calories (I don't know the true calories) so I lost 12 pounds in 3 months. But I have 30 more I want to lose by the wedding date. Am I a lost cause?

I can't say enough positive about settingcaptivesfree. You can use it in addition to whatever method you choose to lose weight, or you can follow their suggested plan. I used it last year and lost 15 pounds but I more or less ate according to weight watchers. I need to start it again as I totally lost control over the winter with no exercise. It's all about keeping Jesus as your focus in everything you do and depending on Him.
I am going to sign up again this weekend.

I weighed in last Friday and have lost 10 lbs. Now I only have 90 to go! ha ha. But, again, I am doing this slowly and 20 at a time. I haven't started the exercise yet. I have a Y membership, that I am going to start taking advantage of. Finally.
It will be nice to feel better, my feet won't hurt as bad, my joints might feel better and I will feel better. And another addiction will have bit the dust! I will still love food and love to cook and serve...but I won't be a hostage to it.
God is good!!!!!

NO one is a lost cause sweetie. Falling off the wagon is no big deal. We don't fall forever...we eventually have to get back UP again. Just start where you are at! We have to eat. I have noticed that eating smaller meals, leaving even one bite on my plate, and including fruits and veggies in my in between small meals has really helped! Like, small breakfast, small snack of fruit, small lunch, small snack, small dinner, small snack BEFORE 8:oo.
And don't get rigid. Do it for the right reason. YOU and feeling better for you and your new husband. A dress can be let out...your health? It is hard to get back once it's lost.
God Bless!

Congrats to all the ladies who are determinedly losing weight! That is so awesome! About 6 months ago, I began walking regularly around a beautiful large park we have. Today, I enjoy it so much that I don't want to miss my scheduled day to go.
I walk 3-4 times a week, and cover at least 3-4miles each time. I was at a 12-14 pants size, and now I'm at an 11.(my goal is size 9 pant size) I feel soooo much better, and I have more energy! I'm tighter, more toned, and can finally feel my muscles through my skin (for years, I thought they had disappeared completely!!!)
Still working on a pouchy belly (3 kids years ago...never toned up), and flabby thighs (getting more toned every day!)
Even though my hubby and I do have a gym membership, I seriously prefer working out outside. I love to pray and glorify God as I walk, and see all His beautiful scenery; colors, trees, squirrels, birds, and lots of friendly folks walking their cute dogs.

I finally joined Weight Watchers on Tuesday. I think this is about my 5th or 6th time doing WW. I just can't do it without going to the meetings.
Last December I had my gall bladder removed, and before they would do the surgery I had to do a sleep test because I'm overweight. Turns out that I have "severe" sleep apnea (even though my hubby says I rarely snore or wake up at night). Well, I don't want to be on a CPAP machine for life, so I'm trying to lose weight for that reason as well as feeling better, being healthier, looking better and being able to just do regular activities. I used to be an avid cyclist, but just riding my bike to the end of the block now is too much. I miss biking. I think I'd also like to take up jogging.
My goal is to focus on losing 10% at a time. :thumbup

My daughter and son-in-law joined Weight Watchers. I am using Sparks people on line cause it is free and doing the setting the captives free study.
