Without talking about the emergent church...NOT A WORD ABOUT THEM please...talk to me about what is wrong with the emerging church. Everytime I try to read about the emerging church they mix it with the emergent church and combine the two. I want to know about the emerging church.
I'm here to listen and ask questions. If I ask you a question about why you feel this way or ask for more to back it up please don't think it is because I am against it. I am taking notes and have lots of questions.

Some like to split hairs on Emergent/Emerging church
The argument is form vs. content
We are the raptured church and we preserve content.
The Emergents will emerge more after we leave.

Fundamentally, the Emerging church believes that the presentation of the gospels changes along the spirit of the times, and we should do things considered currently fashionable (or "relevant" in their own terms) in the eyes of the unsaved in order to engage them and plant the seeds of the gospels. They are in a sense very similar in philosophy to the seeker sensitive chruch movement, except the seeker sensitive chruch caters to the consumerist modernism while the Emerging type caters to the postmodernist minds.
It shares with the Emergent chruch movement that the kingdom of God is to be unveiled here on earth and we must make it Jesus, through the Church, would rule supreme before He Himself returns personally. It disregards the notions of putting God above the believers. It believes in Christianization rather than Evangelization.

The Emergent church leaves a variety of ways to gain salvation other than Jesus' shed blood for the sinner and repentance.
No need for repentance in Emergent nor Jesus' death on the cross..
You'll never hear it
