Have you or do you know of anyone who has had ovarian cancer? I have an exam next Tues. and I'm nervous. I have gained weight without any change in my diet. I bloat to the point of looking like I'm 8 months pregnant. In less than six months, I've gone from size 14 to 16 to 18 just because of my waist/bloating. I can put my 14 jeans on and 3 days later can't even get the zipper to move over my abdomen and have to put 16's on. Experiencing heartburn/gas that I never have. At church, had to sit down because pain/cramping in lower abdomen was so bad couldn't walk..went away after 2 hrs. Didn't bother going the ER since I'm seeing the dr. on Tues. (this happened Wed.night). Intermittent pain in legs, pain in back and now out of breath going up and down stairs. I've read that a lot of the symptoms are signs of ovarian cancer and i had an aunt with ovarian cancer (my mom's sister). Just curious if you know anything about this.

Have you ever been tested for PCOS? It is polycystic ovarian syndrome. The symptoms you are experiencing may be a cyst bursting.
I hope this wasn't posting medical advice, just from my own experience.

Yes....I have experienced much of the same symptoms, and from time to time I develope cysts....some can be small, others can be large and painful. Get in checked out. Also, these symtoms resemble what my mil went through when she had a fibroid. The docs will check all that out......praying for you!

Two of my coworkers had it.
One of them it was stage 4 and the other, I don't remember what stage it was but her stomach stuck out pretty far. She said they removed a large tumor (over 10 lbs.) and she had chemo. It's been two years since her surgery and about 7 years for the other.

Thank you for your responses and prayers! :) It is so nice to have this board to come to where everyone is so supportive! I wouldn't dare tell my 75yr old mom whose sister had ovarian cancer (she is a survivor too...it's been 15 plus years since she had it) because she'd worry excessively over what may turn out to be nothing but a fibroid or cyst. Thanks again! :)

I would recommend the book, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause by Dr. John Lee. You should be able to find it in your library or any book store. Kathe

I agree. Wonderful read for any woman in her 30's to 50's.

Fibroids maybe? They can get really big and so can ovarian cysts. We removed a cyst once the size of an orange. It was benign but really really big. I am not giving any medical advice. :pray for you.
