I was so disgusted the other day. I printed out some information w/ coloring sheets and such on the cycle of water ie: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection.
And at the beginning there's a paragraph talking about water being around since the beginning of time and they say - the water the first fish WALKED OUT OF!!! , the pond the dinosaur drank from etc....
I was just so thankful at that moment, that I was doing the teaching, and could substitute the water God made at creation etc...... but man, they start indoctrinating them in Kindergarten!!! Just one more thing to emphasize we're doing the right thing in keeping them home.

They start earlier than Kindergarten. When I worked at Kindercare, I used to have to change a few words whenever I read books about dinosaurs. I would always read "a long long time ago" whenever the books meant for preschoolers said "millions of years ago". :scripture

We change ALL science dates in books to reflect YEC. My goal is to one day create a YEC Earth Science homeschool program. I love Earth Science, it is one of my favorite subjects, but there is NOTHING out there that doesn't reflex millions of years in their text.

A ways back someone asked what is everyone's favorite thing about homeschooling. I agree with what everyone said, but have a new one to add. I love seeing the relationships grow between my 4 girls. There is a gap between the first 2 and the last 2 and they wouldn't even know each other if the older two were in school all day. (Which is how it was in my family growing up.) It's also good for the older two to have responsibilities in helping to care for the younger two.

That is one of my favorite things too. My kids know it as well. They know the influence they have on the youngest (for good or for bad) and take it seriously. They sincerely love each other (although they are kids and do quarrel) and it is a beautiful thing to see them teamwork together though the day. To have my oldest come up start helping me with the housework because she sees that I've been busy helping her all day and thinks I've done enough work.....
What an amazing BLESSING to homeschool. I am floored with thankfulness.
I'm normal, though, and sometimes I loose focus or have a horrible day and feel like pulling my hair out! :gaah

Ya, I have lots of their stuff, but I'm a Science junky and have in my mind what needs to be taught. I enjoy putting curriculums together and am actually working on a few right now. Who knows, maybe one day I'll publish them :pray
