As most of you know, Bill Wiese published a book entitled 23 Minutes in Hell. In your opinion, would this be a good link to share with people you are hoping to evangelize?
My reason for asking is I did share it with a few people and one responded by saying "God does not use scare tactics...and that Mr. Wiese was only promoting his book."
Your collective knowlege and experience on how to respond to this person would be most appreciated! Although this person is well educated (has a Phd.), bright, and has been witnessed to on several occassions, there is hope because the communication line is open, and I do not want to do or say anything that would close it.
Thanks!

Carpe,
I would not use that site to witness about hell. Those are latter rain prophets Mike Bickle, Jesse Duplantis, C Peter Wagner, Gwen Shaw, Rick Joyner, ect they are dangerous. :fear
From the link
"You have been saved, my child." said her attendant, "so as by fire, you were not a faithful servant of God, you did not build with gold, silver and precious stones, but with wood, hay and stubble, which have been burnt.* God cannot reward you largely now.* These infinite blessings spread out before you in all directions may be obtained by and by, when you are prepared for them.* Be faithful to your present opportunities, for much is before you to be done.* Advancements which ought to have been made in the world will have to be made here, ere you can go on to the city gates, or see the shining glory of the Jasper wall.* Come with me and I will assist you in a further knowledge of Christ and His eternal salvation and kingdom."

All that we need to know about hell is in the Bible. More importantly the only information about hell that we can trust is in the Bible. I would never trust man enough to believe what he has to say about things like this, only God is worthy of trust.

No, I would not use it. There are no scriptual grounds to say that people can return from hell after death.
However, fear of judgement before God is something that drives a person to the Cross, but it must be used in the right context. Hell is very real, but it won't make sence to a person who doesn't understand God will punish sin, or even what his own sin is.

No, and for the same reasons given by Dan. I offered my opinion and disapproval of Wiese's faulty theology sometime ago in this topic (http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=7267)...
My reason for asking is I did share it with a few people and one responded by saying "God does not use scare tactics..."
Actually, yes, He does:
"Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences." (2 Corinthians 5:11)
The context of persuasion in this instance is necessitated by our (the saved ones) awareness of the "terror of the Lord". Part of the evangelism process can be stating God's use of Divine wrath, in light of someone's lack of spiritual conviction.
Another use of the term 'persuasion' (Greek 3982 - "peitho") would be 'trust or assurance':
"And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me." (Hebrews 2:13) or,
"And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him." (1 John 3:19)
Therefore, 'persuasion' in this usage is not our attempt to 'talk someone into' acceptance, but to either:
1. Offer the assurance of salvation and to trust in it, or
2. To literally 'scare the Hell out of them' by stating what God can do if they don't receive Him.
