Many would probably be happy to just simply strip the wealthy of their money, even if they themselves didn't get any of it. :sad
Stripped, quartered, and beheaded :doh Such love.

I have contempt for the protests on the whole and many of the protestors in particular. I feel sorry for the duped few who are there with their misdirected anger. Those needing "help" are a far cry from the communists, anarchists, labor union thugs who are drumming up all this rage, yet they are being swept up in this evil movement.

The "1%" are still employing hundreds of thousands and maybe more. Why are they cutting hours and insurance by making people part time? That problem is caused by D.C. and not "greed". Give this some thought "99ers" if they were greedy they would want to make more money, expand their businesses and exploit the little man. They don't, they are fearful of more business destroying policy coming from D.C. Things like the Millionaire's tax, obamacare, dodd-frank, green policy/EPA just to name a few. No CEO in their right mind would risk their company's well being by investing and expanding in this toxic business climate. A climate cause by obama, who if they voted in the last election, likely voted for and still support him.

If only the "99ers" would fully educate themselves, the well intentioned protestors (all 5 of them) would leave the stench, put down their posters and go home. They would engage in what is needed to do what is needed to grow the economy and get people back to work. (Assuming God gives us a reprieve)

Please, for the posters sympathetic to the "99ers" what are they proposing that will help anything in America? Answer: Nothing!

Put yourself in any business owner's position, and hear the protestors demands.....

* An artificially high "minimum wage" I have heard $20.00 floated.
* Provide healthcare to every "worker"
* Unionize the workforce.
* Nationalize all business.
* Confiscate all the wealth of the "rich" however they define "rich"

Those are just some of what is being demanded by these people.

The "99ers" are not mainstream, and they are certainly not the "Tea Party". For the non dreadlock wearing, pot smoking, shower averting, birkenstock wearing, hippie throwback malcontents who want to see change, get with the "Tea Party" because they are the ones who represent what we need.

Tea Party: A one day, non violent, non messy, expression of what is needed to repair the country. They meet for a day and go home, with no mess left behind, why? Because they have lives and jobs!!! They have a voice and began to change the dynamic in D.C. with the gains in 2010, and are poised to usher in more in 2012.

"99ers" take over public places, make a scene, leave a horrible mess and display what is the worst of human nature. They linger because this is their job and their life. Think that is man and unsympathetic? Look at their words, fruit and objectives and prove me wrong.

Seriously, look at what these mobs want to see in the U.S. and compare that to what normal Americans in the Tea Party want. Then, ask yourself, which country would you want to live in?

:agree :amen

They aren't stupid. See above. :sad

A small number of them are deceived. Most of them know exactly what they're doing. And it's stupid.

I certainly don't feel a bit of sympathy for the protesters. There wants are not logical or attainable if they don't have a job why aren't they still out looking instead of sitting on their behinds . Why are they blaming the corporations it is government regulations that have dried up the job market not wall street or corporations. You don't hire when it cost more to take on more employees in a bad economy maybe DC can afford at tax payer expense to hire but private corps can't they do answer to stock holders. I was laid off in 2008 I looked for a job at that time and found none open to me I was also 63 so some of it was age discrimination but with my job I would have worked till I was in my 70's easily. I had to go for early retirement instead so now I am on less of an income than I had hoped for and I am having to be very very careful with the money I do have and I am watching my spending power disappear but you won't see me blaming anyone but our government for all the extra taxes and regulations they have put on businesses and for the low interest rates that is bringing about inflation. The wants of most of these people are for handouts not jobs they want an income whether they work or not they want free college they want $20 an hour minimum wage they want they want they want. These are spoiled little brats who want everything handed to them or union men who want better benefits than these businesses can afford to give without making their product so overpriced they can't compete. Millionaires already pay more than their fair share and I am tired of people wanting their money for doing what just existing? I will never be a socialist no matter if I end up broke which is possible I will never want what I can't afford to have nor envy my neighbor for what he has. This envy has got to stop I believe in what the bible teaches us and no it does not teach us to steal from the wealthy or to envy what others have. As individuals we are suppose to help those less well off than us I have done this over the years and protesting the way these people are by trashing an area and going to the bathroom on us flags and saying I hate my country is not the way to help yourself it is just plain wrong and I don't sympathize.

I also agree with OWL, but I meant to defend "stupid" in the sense of lacking intelligence, as in mentally incapacitated. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Semantics. :hat

Perhaps "Ignorant" for those who are uneducated on the topic. Sadly, most know exactly what is going on and support this worldview.

We struggle to find words because the thought process these people follow is light years from normal human beings.

For the record, they would say the same about us. :heh

Two excerpts from "The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind" by Gustave Le Bon (emphasis mine).

Page 60

Reason and arguments are incapable of combatting certain words and formulas. They are uttered with solemnity in the presence of crowds, and as soon as they have been pronounced an expression of respect is visible on every countenance, and all heads are bowed. By many they are considered as natural forces, as supernatural powers. They evoke grandiose and vague images in men’s minds, but this very vagueness that wraps them in obscurity augments their mysterious power. They are the mysterious divinities hidden behind the tabernacle, which the devout only approach in fear and trembling.

Page 108

The most perfect example of the ingenuous simplification of opinions peculiar to assemblies is offered by the Jacobins of the French Revolution. Dogmatic and logical to a man, and their brains full of vague generalities, they busied themselves with the application of fixed-principles without concerning themselves with events. It has been said of them, with reason, that they went through the Revolution without witnessing it. With the aid of the very simple dogmas that served them as guide, they imagined they could recast society from top to bottom, and cause a highly refined civilisation to return to a very anterior phase of the social evolution. The methods they resorted to to realise their dream wore the same stamp of absolute ingenuousness. They confined themselves, in reality, to destroying what stood in their way.

I don't think much will come of it. There are no professional revolutionaries involved, no access to heavy weaponry, the military is firmly on the state's side, the social welfare safety net is still in place to prevent total desperation, and there's no real coherent message or leader despite claims to the contrary. The end result will probably be a couple of empty promises from Democrats and a lot of frustrated hipsters... maybe a water cannon or tear gas assault at worst, *cough* which would be fun to watch *cough*.

There are also claims that other cities around the world are going to have days of solidarity with this movement, but it shouldn't rock the boat noticeably.

Nobody's setting themselves on fire yet, folks.
