Capitalism is the best system we have for trading with one another. The idea behind capitalism is that a person helps society simply by helping himself.
"But man has almost constant occasion for the help of his brethren, and it is in vain for him to expect it from their benevolence only. He will be more likely to prevail if he can interest their self-love in his favour, and shew them that it is for their own advantage to do for him what he requires of them. ... It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity, but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages." Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations 23-24

Several years back I had a successful business running, and my wife had a great job in the court system. Combined we were in the nebulous "rich" class. Neither her nor myself got "rich" "on the backs" or "at the expense" of "the poor". My business made no distinction between the two, and I am not sure how a court employee could exploit anything.
Small businesses and their owners, if they are successful, are going to be "the rich". Assuming they have competition the poor will not be exploited, because they will go to the guy not exploiting them.
Poor people are however disproportionately exploited by politicians who pass laws causing prices to go up on everything. Poor people have less income than rich people, so who really if hurting the poor?

What if a Utopian society existed with generous sinless citizens who love and care about one another, would socialism work? yes, libertarianism? yes, but we live in a world of self centered evil hearts, therefore, no system will ever be perfect for imperfect man.

I didn't mention that I closed my business because the state economics crashed and we are run by the leftist :zombie in Sacramento. Their insane utopian view of everything ruined a great thing. Now all those I employed needed to go elsewhere and the fools were out the tax revenue I once generated.
democrat governance at it's worst/best. But hey Texas, Utah and other Western states loved the businesses leaving for their survival.

OWL, California never really could figure that out, right. If it wasn't for the movie industry and silicon valley they would have to tighten their belts until the populace turned white.
Minnesota, few years back, was losing businesses to So. Dak., they made some adjustments and slowed down the bailing of companies somewhat.

The group plans to kick off their two-week, 240-mile march at noon Wednesday when dozens will leave the park and make their way to Washington, D.C.
According to Kelly Brannon, the march's organizer, the group will most likely grow as it moves south as they plan on picking up supporters along the way.
The goal, Brannon said, is to reach Washington by November 23 which is the deadline for a congressional committee to decide whether to uphold President Barack Obama's extension of Bush-era tax cuts.
Protesters maintain the cuts benefit only wealthy Americans.
Demonstrators who signed up for the epic march say they plan to camp out overnight or seek shelter at volunteered locations.

These "useful idiots" protesting can't even live together "lovingly, peacefully, crimefree" as those of us in regular society, from what I read about the sickening goings-on in my city.
They spiraled down to some freakish "lord of the flies" situation in no time.
Clear to me there are no answers to be had there.

:yeahright
Or you know, barge into the nearest hotel to demand free service. If they don't become violent once they're rejected, they'll almost certainly defile the place like animals. They've already done such things already.
