Two Lewd Tuesdays

Oprah promotes, Whoopi volunteers for irresponsible sex.

What is going on with women’s talk shows?

On Tuesday, October 2, Whoopi Goldberg told The View’s audience that she would like to “do” the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, along with her husband, Paul Pelosi. On Tuesday, September 25, Oprah Winfrey featured a couple who have an open marriage, along with experts that encourage women to have “friends with benefits” and use pornography.

Whoopi’s comments stemmed from an exchange earlier in the show in which she needled Barbara Walters about interviewing “her man,” Paul Newman. The good-natured ribbing quickly descended into dialogue more befitting a locker room:

Barbara Walters: Talk about older men, ooh!

Whoopi Goldberg: Let me call him up.

Walters: You would do him, as they say?

...

Oprah delved into Sex and the City territory when she featured sex expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz and psychiatrist Dr. Gail Saltz on her September 25 show, “237 Reasons to Have Sex.” The show’s official topic was our changing attitudes about sex, but in effect the show became an endorsement of promiscuity.

Schwartz advocated “friends with benefits.” She pointed out that this arrangement is not right for everyone and does not “substitute for a deep, loving relationship.” But the only problems Schwartz spoke about were feelings of “jealousy or forced love.” Nothing was stated about the risks of sexually transmitted diseases or the risk to a woman’s heart.

This is exactly why I don't watch either of these shows.

I don't watch them either. In fact, I don't watch much TV at all anymore.

No TV either. Mostly it's inane or disgusting.

Our cable went out for two days and my 10 yr old commented how nice it was that the TV didn't work because we had spent two days reading and talking.

I've watched part of Oprah only ONCE. It was when she had Shawn on and spoke about Michael Devlin and embarassed the poor kid for ratings, of course. NEVER seen The View. I regret I ever watched Oprah for anything.

It seems that today there is no pretense about not supporting Godly values and beliefs. It's increasingly difficult to find anything to watch. My daughter recently started watching Little House on the Prairie. Naturally they was removed from cable efetove 10/1/07. So I scurried around the net and bought all the TV episodes at a very reasonable price. Our local library doesn't carry much of her stuff. 95% percent of what is on is trash.

I chalk it up to end times ... . GIGO.

Disturbing. They want to be considered hip and on the edge, they are on the edge, edge of falling into the lake of fire. Who could listen to that and not be offended. I don't get it, I don't underestand how millions of women sit down everymorning or afternoon and watch this junk. It's poison.

The day she had that boy Shawn on I just about:furious:nuke

After the horrible things that kid had been through, to parade him in front of the entire nation was beyond callous! What on Earth were his parents thinking?!?!? They should be horsewhipped, and Oprah, too! The parents could have went on alone, and let the poor boy have his dignity and privacy! He looked like a deer caught in the headlights! I have not watched Oprah since. There was absolutely NO EXCUSE for what they did to him!
