Revolutionary fighters have captured deposed Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, Libyan television said Wednesday, citing the Misrata Military Council.

That report, however, could not be independently confirmed.

Horns blared and celebratory gunfire burst into the air in Tripoli.

"It's a great victory for the Libyan people," said Libyan Information Minister Mahmoud Shammam.

We will have to wait for confirmation on this story, as they haven't been completely reliable in the past, such as with the reported capture of Gaddafi's sons.

Yep! Al-Jazeera just reported he used a 100 car convoy as a decoy and that he was caught in a gunbattle--dead from his wounds. Sic Semper Tyrannis! Obama the killer.....timing is everything in politics. There are no coincidences!

Story on Comcast gave two versions. First was that he was found hiding in a hole in the ground ala Saadam Hussein saying "don't shoot! Don't shoot!. The second was that he was wounded in both legs and also suffered a gunshot wound to the head from which he later died. Take your pick. You knew he wasn't going to be taken alive, whether he fought or was simply executed.

If Qaddafi wasn't killed on site, I'm sure they would execute him just as they did Saddam Hussein after a short trial.

I've just seen a video on Sky News showing his dead body being dragged in the street. It certainly looks like him.

yeah, there is a rather gory pic of his face on the news. if he isn't dead in that picture he wasn't far from it at the time it was taken.
