Hi guys. I posted my dilemma on the prayer board, I spent Friday and Saturday and part of Sunday in the hospital for Cellulitis (Major painful infection of the skin) I had all around my abdomen, waist, and part of back and toosh....It was horrible, fever, pain, nausea....Anyway I am hanging in there still not able to do much, although I managed to stay awake all day today aside from my meds I have to take which knock me for a loop.

I want to know when you all are down sick, any suggestions on how to keep the kids busy since I really cannot do any teaching yet....:ohno

any tips, ideas, resources for stuff I can print out aside from basic worksheets and puzzles for them would be great -----my kids are 12, 10, 9 (the boys Matt, Nick, and JJ) and 6 years (my girl Annie).

Love your Sister in Christ,
Nannette

hmmmm....... I can't think of anything either, other than reading.

You could make them clean the house. Teaches domestic engineering. :heh

Yeah well it was a long shot. I have been making them keep up their chores and they recieve Home Ec credits for doing them, I have gave them paper and magazines and scissots and glue for Art projects, I have printed out their worksheets for their regular classes for them to do which they just whip right through those.....I am trying to keep them from their video games while I am not fully up to par yet until we can resume our regular schedule however, it's not easy.

If anyone can think of any thing else let me know.

Thanks,
Nannette (a.k.a. LupusMommyto5)

You can order interesting educational videos from the library and have your dh pick them up. Board games are fun, my children can spend hours playing them. Tracing leaves on fall colored construction paper to cut and hang on windows. Or put a leaf under paper and run a crayon over it and then cut it out. Can your 12 yo handle slice & bake cookies? Homemade slime or playdough to play with AT THE TABLE.

Okay what is Homemade slime and how do you make it?:scratch Do you have a recipe for playdough too? My Matt (the 12 yr old) is pretty efficient in the kitchen, he can actually cook lots of meals thanks to the Betty Crocker Junior Cook Book I got him.:thumb
