Gift Basket Help......please, oh, please!

Once again, I have opened by big mouth and have offered to help with my son's FFA banquet this Saturday night. We are making gift baskets to auction off along with a delivered meal. I chose mexican food since I thought it would be easy......yeah, right! :panic

What kind of items (other than chips and salsa) could I put in a gift basket that would make people want to bid on it????

Flour tortillas, black beans, chick peas, refried beans, queso sauce, red sauce, green chilis, black olives, bottle of green hot sauce: They just add cheese and beef! And they can have killer nachos or enchildas

Wrap with very festive paper yellows pinks greens

don't forget to shop at walmart! Cheap oh maybe some spanish rice mix, you can put it in a little glass jar tie with twine

Also how about some mexican themed party favors to brighten up the basket, those would be fun!

I've made a million of these things:

Go to Home Goods (or marshalls/TJMAX) they have a ton of packaged food items and put in the following:

Chips & Jar of fancy Salsa
Mexican Cook Book
Some blackbeans/Rice
A mexican style bowl shaped like a pinata or something cute like that
a string of those lights shaped like chili peppers

Wrap the basket in green celaphane (craft store) and tie the top with a huge tri color bow. Tie a little String of twine around it and hang 2 chili peppers (plastic from the craft store)

Voila.

PS: Gift baskets tend to add up quick........pay attention to your budget.
