My dad used to make his own bullets at home by melting down lead.. he's have to handle it from the crude stage of melting it to taking the bullets out of their molds and eventually when he'd load his gun with them. He's been doing this for YEARS. He's recently been to the doctor to check lead levels and his doctor said he's fine. :idunno Chances are even a bit of exposure isn't going to make that much difference. Not that we shouldn't be careful, but remember it's the media that is driving the panic, per usual. It's what they do best.

I used to do stained glass so I handled lead alot. The only way it was a health problem was if I ingested it, which I didn't. :heh

I think lead's one of those substances that can seep through your skin, right?

Arbonne uses no lead or other toxic ingredients in their lipsticks or anything else. Another thing to watch out for is animal by-products. The book Mad Cowboy is a good read for anyone wanting to know more about animal by products in food and skin care products. Kathe

I usually don't come in here,(smells "pink" in here) but I noticed the thread title "Lead in Lipstick". Am I the only one who thinks that Lead in Lipstick sounds like the name of a bad 80's hair band?
