A guy from Centerville, Missouri caught a young male cougar/mountain lion recently. There's no denying the presence of them in SE Missouri anymore lol. He had a trap set up and went back like yesterday and found him in it. We've heard of stories of sightings for a long long time in this area.

MDC has in the pass 5 years agreed that there is indeed cats in SEMO. As well as bears.

Yeah. I've seen a bear track in Shannon county - the same place my friend and his brother in law found sign and actually HEARD one on the next ridge near them. My wife saw a track in Madison county a long time ago also. She also thought she saw a tail slip through the brush that could very well have been a cougar also.

Two years ago I saw a large cat (couldn't tell if it was a cougar or a bobcat) hauling off a deer carcass that someone dumped along side the road. My wife and step mother both saw a small black bear crossing the road, so both are definately here in central Mo.

Forget it. Unless of course you have big $$$ or a Government Rep in your back pocket.

the hunt will be like the sheep out west, $5,000 just to get your name in the box and another $5,000 if you get drawn.

There numbers are dramatically rising in the West.
It's no surprise they're migrating Eastward.
