I used to be able to play the piano and the flute! Have no piano and no flute now...so..

Amazon!! I got my latest flute for $110.00 brand new. Amazon has some really great deals on instruments. Also, ebay. I paid only $180.00 for a $900.00 trumpet. Both sound great and the trumpet came with lots of extras.

Wow that was a good deal. Haven't even thought about Amazon or ebay! Thanks for the idea!

Oh, I do love that Gibbs icon!!

It's nice to see some other trumpet players here. I don't play it, but my 14 yo son does; he plays trumpet, baritone and percussion as well in advanced band (he loved the timpani!); he also sings bass. My husband plays piano for our church and writes the songs for our shows; he's very talented. My 16 yo daughter sings all the way from high soprano to alto and is excellent at singing harmonies and complicated music. Oldest son plays guitar and sings and some piano. I sing alto and used to play oboe, but am way out-classed by the rest in my family!

I have played my trumpet almost all of my life. In High school I played the Trumpet, but my senior year I played the French Horn for concert season.

I play guitar casually and I got a nice Gliga violin for my birthday. I was teaching myself, but depending or not if we move, I will look into lessons. I really would love to play the Cello eventually, but that is a big investment... I am a big string girl. My husband also plays guitar and we both like to sing. I hope when we get to heaven, we can easily pick up any instrument and play for Jesus. THAT would be awesome.

What fun it has been to read over these posts! Of course I knew MIIH is a piano master but I had no idea what a diverse group of musicians we have here on our board. And I agree, we will have to have a Heavenly Jam when we all get up There. While here below, I want to be able to play hymns for the sheer JOY of it. Of course, I will sing and my cats will probably faint and my dog will howl and wish for doggie-deafness, but oh well, too bad. Anybody play sax?? That is another of my favorites along with the 'fiddle' and banjo. I am a huge fan of bluegrass.:ring

I play the flute and piccolo. My youngest son is learning how to play the violin. He already plays the guitar. For a Christmas present this year, we played some Christmas carol with his grandmother, who plays the piano. I used to play the guitar but didn't keep up with it, but did keep up with my flute and piccolo playing.

It has been a while, but I would have no problem picking that back up. I did go to school with a girl who was amazing on the Sax, she could play anyway, anything.,

Once you learn one instrument, is it easier to play another??

Not a piano "master" by any means -- just like to use what God gave me to bless His people. It IS sheer joy for me to play for church every Sunday, or even just for God, just me and Him.

I played alto sax in high school, but I was never that good at it.

We have a family in our church that plays and sings and tours and records CD's. They are the Weaver Believer Survival Revival. If you like bluegrass/gospel, you'd like them. It's a mom, a dad, and eight kids who play and sing bluegrass gospel and write some of their own songs.
