Until I joined the Navy, my dream was to get a degree in music and teach High school or even elementary music. I love teaching others about music. I helped teach my daughter play the clarinet and my step daughter the sax. My daughter played for several years and was getting quite good on it. I moved away from step daughter and only got to help her for a short while.
I had big dreams of directing a High school band and giving other children the gift if music. But my life ended up taking a completely different path and I joined the Navy. I loved the Navy though, spent 13 years in the Navy, so I did not feel cheated. Just a different route than I thought it would take.
Yeah, life is funny that way. I thought I'd get my PhD in Soviet studies and then work for a think tank in DC. Instead, I write and direct youth musicals and homeschool my kids - in the other Washington. "The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." - Prov 16:9
