homemade split pea soup, took me about 35 years to perfect the recipe. I always threw in a lot of ham. One day I put just a quarter pound or less of ham in with the large batch... that did the trick, and don't leave out the sour cream, and a dash of Habanero hot sauce for those who like that.
... and sugar cookies for desert, hot from the oven.

BBQ pork strips slow cooking in the crock pot today with a homemade BBQ sauce. The aroma is wonderful. I haven't decided yet on hamburger buns or cornbread yet, but I'll serve it with a tossed salad.
Mmm, sugar cookies..I could go for some of them right now. http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/4863/cookieyh4.gif

We will be having Teriyaki Chicken. I marinated the chicken tenderloins overnight. I'll brown them in a skillet, and serve it over rice. Also, we will have Steamed Vegetables and a Tossed Salad.

We spent yesterday at the VA. Today we had a early morning speaker at our Church so tonight it is left over spaghetti. We could not sleep last night was still up at 2 a.m. and then got up at 8. I am so very tired. Poor hubby got up at 6 so I know he is ready for a nap.

Thank you, the draw was to powerful, I couldn't not participate in this thread :) . I'm not a bad cook, that's for sure. My kids complain once in a while but I expect when they're older and come home for a visit they won't have any complaints regarding the meals...
And especially know that I appreciate your prayers from the bottom of my heart.
