Something on a Shingle. I use ground pork sausage as the base, others use chipped beef. It is essentially a hearty meaty gravy poured over whatever you want to pour it over, usually toast or biscuits.
What all do you put in your gravy? Mind sharing your recipe? :)

our classic SOS is chipped beef in white sauce on toast.
a variation of the idea that we have the most is just cream of mushroom soup (use half the suggested milk) and pour that on the 'shingle'
we don't do the chipped beef much at all cause for some unknown reason, chipped beef is expensive up here :scratch
when my dad was a kid it was among the few prepared foods the family could afford.

The SOS I made the other day was with moose sausage. My wife tells me she doesn't like SOS but she sure does like my meat gravy poured over bread or bisquits :) I add flour and milk and some spice to the sausage after it's cooked, oh, and a good bit of onion.
Tonight we're having gunk.
