Is there a sub for the red wine....Some ppl can not drink any alcohol or have it in food

If you can't have alcohol, I would sub Beef Broth with maybe a touch of Balsamic Vinegar. I have started using a base of onion on meat that I bake and it really turns out good. I do add some type of liquid to just barley cover the onions.
