Magnitude-6.0 quake recorded in Pacific off southern Oregon coast; no damage reports

BANDON, Ore. — The National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo., says an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 off the Oregon coast caused no reported damage and only a smattering of reports from people who felt it as a weak jolt.

The shallow quake was recorded at 7:31 p.m. PST Tuesday more than 150 miles west of southern Oregon. It did not generate a tsunami.

We didn't feel this one but our cat went crazy meowing loudly. This is the second large earthquake in the last few days in the Pacific. Hope it's relieving stress not building up to a bigger quake.

Keeping you in my prayers. I have a son who now lives in Santa Cruz, CA. He has yet to experience an EQ yet. Where I live in WV it is pretty safe. No hurricanes, no tornados, no EQ's, no drought and seldom any wild fires. We do contend from time to time with flooding but that is about the extent of our natural disaster experience. Maybe that is why along with the mountainous beauty we have the nickname "almost heaven"?

We will be praying Mollymouse!

i have a gut feeling it is 65% relieving built up stress by the tetonic plates and 30% gut feeling it is a gradual southward procession around the eastern portion of the infamous Ring Of Fire Earthquake Zone and it's seismic activity is a final destination of Southern California in general. I have a 5% gut feeling I have no idea what I am talking about but the seismic jargon makes me feel important.

Yeah - we're ripe for a subduction zone earthquake. I'm choosing to believe it's going to go during the tribulation when the earthquake is felt around the world. That said, we have our food and water ready (I grew up in the Bay Area - earthquake supplies are a given for my household).
