I've been lurking here for a long time - wishing I knew some of you and wishing I could post my thousands of questions. We've struggled in finding a church for years and although we attend (sporadically), we still struggle to connect. We were badly hurt in a church years ago, and just can't seem to get it right now. Anyway, I have been so hungry for real discussion with other Christians and although I don't want to substitute a forum for real Christian fellowship, I am so excited about being able to participate in the discussions here.

Skater, :heythere
Welcome to RR! Completely understand about the church situation, and how difficult it is to be out of a fellowship with Bible preaching, Christ exalting church. Will pray for your family to find one.
This morning we attended a small, rural church and were delighted as the humble pastor preached from the Word with passion! :yeah And he holds the same concern for the direction many churches are taking these days.
God will lead your family as He has ours. :hug Until then, the fellowship here is terrific and the brethren are very knowledgable about the Bible.
Shalom aleikhem!

Welcome, Skater, You'll find a lot of us are in the same boat. True2Yeshua, I wish SW Virginia wasn't so far from Colorado, after hearing about the church you attended this morning.

Thank you for the kind responses. We went to church (the one we've been attending sporadically) this morning and although the church is a little too light for what I truly desire, I really felt like God wants us there at least for now. The Pastor is a good man, but is often too careful in his preaching. However, we have had some amazing spiritual moments there. My husband was convicted to adopt our third child during a service there - and several other strong messages from God have happened to us there. So, although I know that the church is somewhat lukewarm and I am disappointed in some things that have happened (my son who strongly believes in a literal 7 day creation was once taught in Sunday School that the earth is millions of years old), I am starting to believe that we need to be there. This morning the Pastor invited people to come to the altar to pray and God pushed me so hard to get up there - there was one spot open and the push was undeniably strong. So, for now we've decided to commit to this church and see where God leads us. Sorry for the unorganized rant, but I felt the need to get all this down. Thanks for "listening."
