Hank "Bible Answer Man" Hanegraaff has a new book out- the Apocalypse Code. He was talking about it today on his program, and how it refutes all our "rapture ready" theology. On a previous program Hank called the rapture a "pet theory" that doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Endorsements of his book say things like the following in reference to "people like us":
"the eschatology they are foisting on the world is simply embarrassing to the church"
"demonstrates the tenuousness of their views on the rapture, tribulation, Israel, even Armageddon"
"cogent refutation of the bizarre system of end-times speculation that has become the benchmark of orthodoxy in the minds of many evangelicals"
Has anyone here read it?
Todd are you going to put up a refutation?

What is becoming more and more "embarrassing" is Hank's being called the "Bible Answer Man." He simply doesn't give a balanced view these days.

'The Bible Answer Man' is kinda vague.
Doesn't say anything about being 'correct answers' :idunno

I haven't been a fan of Hank for some time.....he's never open to others interpretations. It always seemed to be his way or the highway whenever I had listened to him.

I recently heard Hank reading aloud from his new book on his radio program. I barely made it through the show. His disdain and disgust for anyone who reads the bible literally came through clearly (to me, at least). I have only recently been acquainted with him and his show. Two things struck me when listening to him. He refers people to his books for answers to their bible questions, not to the bible. And his shows are really infomercials for his books. Instead of telling people to be Bereans and search the scriptures to make sure he is teaching them in accordance with what the Bible says, he refers back to himself.:doh
I hope someone does a good review of his book and theology.

I used to listen to him every afternoon on the way home from work even though I didn't agree with a lot of his views. I quit listening to him a couple of years ago.
