Hi Everyone...

I'd like to ask all of you what your favorite verses are when you are feeling very overwhelmed. I should know better, but...I read too many of the 1000's upon 1000's of replies to Oreo having their coming out cookie. The hatred is astounding in most posts for Christians and I must admit it not only made me sad, it brought me to tears. To read someone's post that all Christians should be euthanized, or how divided everyone is and that all (Christian) bigots should be put into a concentration camp was more than I could handle. The word of God is powerful and I am so thankful for His gift of salvation.

I appreciate your responses, and Thank You in advance...

Not what might be a scripture for solace but one that provides hope and comfort for the Christian looking for our savior to come. Further to the verse pixelpusher posted is 1 Thessalonians 4:18.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe.

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress (tower) and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I saw the oreo cookie thing but didn't read. My thoughts were, they know not what they do. I thought about what the rainbow meant, it was a promise from God to never flood the earth again, it signalled His faithfulness. And thought about why He felt the need to destroy the wicked. What the days of Noah entailed. It's full circle. Because those days are upon us. Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. God will not be mocked and vengeance is His to take care of this. Then I feel sorry for them and what they are bringing upon themselves. It wasn't until Noah was safely on the ark and they began to drown that they finally understood that Noah was right. We are safe in His hands.

Psalm 46:10 as well. To me that says "stop, close your eyes, and breathe. God knows who you are, where you are, how you feel, and what you're going thru. He cares, He's going to take care of it. He either makes it happen or lets it happen."

I found a website yesterday where a girl was asking a question about the rapture, and people commenting on her post were bashing Christians. There was such hatred there I couldn't even finish reading it, not to mention the filthy language. Jesus said that the world would hate us because they hated Him first (I'm paraphrasing.)

It's going to be alright. Eternity in Heaven will be very soon. :hug

Another favourite passage....

Isaiah 40: 27-31

Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: "My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God"?

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the weak, And to [those who have] no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew [their] strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
