the old man in us,the old nature, the sinful nature, the flesh( not the body)is always fighting us...we have 3 enemies,THE WORLD,THE FLESH,THE DEVIL.....and 2 natures in us,the old and the new...so what happens?....ok THE DEVIL,using THE WORLD attacks us CONSTANTLY....we are in a WARFARE....our enemy and enemy of GOD never sleeps and is always enticing us (porn?pride?lust?lying?hate?jealousy?...you name it...now he does it trhu his agencies,i.e. demons, and unconverted humans and uses THE WORLD( kosmos, the actual evil system opposed to THE LORD...) and our FLESH is absolutely powerless to whitstand this constant cruel attacks...we fall and fail in so many ways,we sin,we are totally powerless in ourselves even though the ENEMY also will trick us in believing in some form of self betterment thru religious and not religious programs....THERE IN NO WAY OUT!!!!! Don't trust YOURSELF no,NOT a BIT....don't trust your resolution to do better next time and so...you will fail again and will feel miserable and down and out because the old snake, the accuser of the brethern will accuse and make you feel so bad and unworthy of even calling yourself a "christian" and guess what?YOU are UNWORTHY!!!
ok...I could go on for ever about the enemy tricks to destroy us and make us "feel" miserable and down....
LET'S TALK about the FRIENDS we have!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

THE FATHER loves us and HAS CHOSEN US
THE SON loves us and HAS REDEEMED US
THE HOLY SPIRIT has SEALED US to the end
WE ARE GOD'S PROPERTY!!!!

SO we must turn to OUR GREAT GOD and FIGHT the battles of this constant WARFARE with HIM,because HE IS WITH US and FOR US no matter what!

THE LOVE of THE FATHER beats the love of the WORLD
THE LOVE of JESUS in opposition to the DEVIL
THE LOVE of THE HOLY SPIRIT wins THE FLESH

This WARFARE is made of many battles....VICTORY belongs to THE LORD and to HIS PEOPLE.

Studying the book of Romans ch 7 we can see the anguish of still having the old nature, sin in us,but PAUL found that in JESUS there is CONSTANT FORGIVENESS and DELIVERANCE and then chap 8 is the VICORY HIMN...praise THE LORD:

Romans 7:14

14For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

and

Romans 8

1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So,my dear brothers....
once again THANKS be TO JESUS....
and lets also consider Ephesians 6:10

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

21But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

22Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

23Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

We are HIS CHILDREN...lets walk in FAITH,and LOVE,HE will see us trhu no matter what.....HE TAKES CARE OF HIS CHILDREN.AMEN:)

I finished the course a few weeks ago and can truly say I have broken the chains of this addiction because of truly turning to Jesus and dragging this sin into the light.

I feel the need to spread the word about this course as I truly feel it can bring any man closer to Christ through daily lessons and help beat this addiction.

Click on the link in my signature to view the site or to start the course.

I just finished day 15 with no hitches so far. Having some accountability to another person seems to be helping. But the course requires you to radically amputate anything that hinders. You may have to get rid of your tv, your internet(unfiltered) or whatever else. You have to be honest with yourself that you truly want to be free.

All the devil needs is a crack in the door to let him in. Don't be decived it always starts small and grows into something you can't control.
There is a good book I read as I was completing my www.settingcaptivesfree.com course called The Porn Trap that covers this addiction. The thing I learned that as I was trying to kick this habbit on my own I never could. Not until I drank the living water of Jesus and truly gave this over to him was I finally able to overcome.

"This long, relatively well preserved Wisdom poem from cave 4 (4Q184) was translated into English by G. Vermes and is published by Pelican Press in paper back. According to Vermes this poem depicts, by means of the metaphor of the harlot, the dangers and attraction of false doctrine. Palaeographically, the text is dated to the first century B.C., but the work may be much older, possibly antedating the Qumran sect. This scroll has some words that were not translatable perhaps due to its physical condition, but enough of it is intact to understand clearly the train of thought. Emphasis is added."

...speaks vanity and... errors. She is ever prompt to oil her words, and she flatters with irony, deriding with iniquitous [lips]. Her heart is set up as a snare, and her kidneys as a fowler's nets. Her eyes are defiled with iniquity, her hands have seized hold of the Pit. Her legs go down to work wickedness, and to walk in wrong-doings. Her...are foundations of darkness, and a multitude of sins is in her skirts. Her...are darkness of night, and her garments...Her clothes are shades of twilight, and her ornaments plagues of corruption. Her couches are beds of corruption, and her...depths of the pit. Her inns are couches of darkness, and her dominions in the midst of the night. She pitches her dwelling on the foundations of darkness, she abides in the tents of silence. Amid everlasting fire is her inheritance, not among those who shine brightly. She is the beginning of all the ways of iniquity. Woe (and) disaster to all who possess her! And desolation to all who hold her! For her ways are ways of death, and her paths are roads of sin, and her tracks are pathways to iniquity, and her by-ways are rebellious wrong-doings. Her gates are gates of death, and from the entrance of the house she sets out toward the underworld. None of those who enter there will ever return, and all who possess her will descend to the Pit. She lies in wait in secret places. In the city's squares she veils herself, and she stands at the gates of towns. She will never re[st] from wh[orin]g, her eyes glance hither and thither. She lifts her eyelids naughtily to stare at a virtuous one and join him, and an important one to trip him up, at upright men to pervert their way, and the righteous elect to keep them from the commandment, at the firmly established to bring them down wantonly, and those who walk in uprightness to alter the statute. To cause the humble to rebel against God, and turn their steps away from the ways of justice, to bring insolence to their heart, so that they march no more in the paths of uprightness; to lead men astray to the ways of the Pit, and seduce with flatteries every son of man.

i completed the course last september and have not relapsed into old habits even once, praise god. after i finished the course i felt like a new person. if you are sick of being in the battle and want freedom, this course really works IF you are sincerely committed and apply what they ask you to do. it gets hard at times as you fight the flesh, but it all pays off in the end.
