So is masturbation a sin?...because men have been watching porn and masturbating since the beggining of time......
We are praying for you dreath, in your struggle with pornography.
Have you taken the moment to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour?

While the Bible doesn't explicitly mention masturbation, I'm inclined to say that biblically, it is. When it comes to sex in the Bible, what do we see? The promotion of marital oneness both spiritually and physically (i.e. sex) and the condemnation of everything else whether it's mentioned (i.e. homosexuality) or not. Masturbation is centered on oneself and plays no part of marital oneness.

But surely Masturbation existed in Biblical times. Why would the Bible not even mention it?

Lots of things existed in Biblical times which the Bible doesn't mention, but that doesn't mean they're all okay to do. The same goes for lots of things that exist now that didn't exist then.

God's plan for sex is very clear and masturbation is not a part of it.

True, but what would you say about teenagers? Same thing? Puberty?

I guess I missed the part of the Bible that said that your age determines if sinning is okay to do or not.

What a very difficult topic to understand?

I didnt say "masturbation" was a sin, I said viewing pornography was a sin.

I really do not have any answers nor can I recomend any books on the subject.

Lets look at what we know is NOT sin first.

Sex between a men and women in a marriage (the marriage bed is undefiled)

even that will get different opinoions. Some of the older folk will say its only used for reproduction (not to be enjoyed really, they say).

But sex is a gift, and is supposed to be enjoyed in a marriage relationship. Some marriages break up because of the LACK of it.

We also no that sex outside of marriage is wrong and damages us ,

Viewing Pornography is a sin. I think thats very clear.

but any type of masterbation is a sin or is wrong? Im not sure about that one? and to tell you the truth I have no clear answers.

Nor have I herd anyone worth while talk about it.

I think someone in the Church needs to address this issue. Im sure some good pastors have, I guess you realy have to search for these answers.

Here is just one of a hundred questions.

#1 What if you were married, your wife past away, are you suppose to avoid any type of anything till you either re-marry ?

allot of tough questions.

Gen 38:8 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

Gen 38:9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled [it] on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

Gen 38:10 And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.
