Hello all,
I hope this is in the right section. Has anyone here at RR been set free from internet pornography completely? Is it possible, without relapses? I've seen all the "steps" that have been mentioned to break free (filters, accountability, etc), and I wonder if anyone can offer advice on what works and what doesn't.
Thank you for any help you can offer and for any prayers you can give as well.

I can name 2 things that help tremendously. Get an accountability partner, someone you absolutely will not lie to who will ask you the tough questions. Secondly, get into the Bible, daily, even hourly if it helps. Feed your mind and soul with God's word to crowd out all of the other nonsense.

Thank you for any help you can offer and for any prayers you can give as well.Fasting, and prayer will help you break it completely with no relapses...I had a 2 to 3 year long battle with this issue, and could not overcome it, until I started fasting..Since then it hasn't been a problem since..Nothing helped only fasting, and prayer helped me overcome that sin.

Also well known author, and speaker John Bevere broke his problem with pornography on a 4 day fast..This was in his younger days, I guess..This is recorded in one of his books..I can't remember the name of the book, but it was the one that dealt with being prepared for the judgment seat of Christ...Fasting is a great way to break any type of bondage of sin off of ones life.

I just quit looking at the stuff.
I repented of it, I realized how much harm it was doing to me and my marriage and I just asked God for the help to get me through. For me it was just a matter of repentance, I didn't want anything more to do with it, and now I don't.
Perhaps fasting and all is useful, but this just seems to be a matter of the will to me. Just like forgiveness, it is hard to do, but it can be done. Especially considering that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Just trust God to be faithful, and He is, and just do it.

Porn is a tough one. I dealt with it for a while myself. I was able to finally quit for good after I begged God to deliver me from this evil.
Another thing that seemed to help was reminding myself how disgusting it was. I pictured myself sitting there looking at it..cheating on my wife...encouraging the industry to create more porn etc....It disgusting, convice yourself of how disgusting it truly is and it will be easier to stop.
I guarantee at one point some of the stuff you look at you found disgusting...even if you were a kid. Over time you have compromised your values and justified it in your mind. Make sure every time you even think about looking at porn you feel disgusted.
You can do it!

Remove all traces of it from your house. Set up a 'net nanny' on your computer if you have to.
The temptation may never go away completely, but if it takes some effort to indulge it allows you to think twice.

Yup, the biggest problem is having it so easily available. The bible tells us to FLEE from temptation.
