Hi brothers and sisters,

I am surprised -- but I guess I shouldn't be -- to find that there is a message board about this era and I am happy to know there is a place to talk with Christians who see it for what it is.

My screen name means "plow" and is the word from Luke 9:62: "Jesus said to him: 'No-one upon casting hand on plow and then looking into the what-is-behind, well-placed is to enter the Kingdom of God.'" In which Jesus was speaking to a potential disciple who did not make it. In the Teaching, Jesus says that being a disciple is casting the hand on plow, and the word for plow in Greek was "Arotron." The man had asked to follow Jesus but wanted to start after going to his home and bidding farewell to those he was leaving behind. But this verse is deeper and in the context of 9:56-9:62 means that the man wanted to fulfull a duty of Kosher (Jewish law) and respect some member of his family. The verses 9:56-9:62 are examples of three failed followers; all of them in some way failed due to obedience of Kosher. Jesus was teaching that the plow is to divide the soil and similarly divide the Kingdom of Heaven from Kosher. Jesus tought that the Kingdom of God is all around us and is like the soil and not the result of obedience to law but the result of Salvation. Aroo!

I see signs of the End and the Coming popping up all around us. Mostly on the large scale: climate change seems true now, war in the middle east is well underway, we are just passing 2000, and the church has a large number of pretenders in it. Disease is spreading around the globe in a number of forms, and already the food supply is being gradually poisoned.

I think right before the Rapture we will see some precipitating events. One that I wonder about is the discovery of lost scripture with "emergency pre-Rapture guidance" to set the stage for the coming up to Jesus. Most of the New Testament sources are codices and scrolls from near the time of the original story. So we know that they are divine copies, but we wonder if any thing did not get copied that exists somewhere else. I assume there are a few discoveries left to be made, but logically they have to happen before the Rapture. Otherwise, what would the point in showing them to Man be?

I also think there will be Scripture revealed after the Rapture to those left for the Tribulation, but I imagine it will be nearly impossible to discern the real scripture from the fraudulent in those times.

Anyway, that is a bit of a ramble about my thinking on the Rapture and the teachings we have to guide us. I am just excited to see so many other students of Jesus and his disciples and followers of the teachings in the NT.

Arotron,

Welcome!

You're right, there are plenty of signs of the times that seem to indicate Christ's return is near. Glad to have you join our board for discussion, fellowship and prayer.
